Eye Cream Recommendations?

The only thread on this topic I brought up (though I didn't scroll beyond top post on this) was from 2010....so I'm opening up this for current suggestions.

Currently my two face moisturizers I'm using are DD's Dream Cream, which I've used for years, also Philosophy's Hope In A Jar, which I also have a small jar of I'm currently using off and on.

But I currently have no dedicated eye cream, which I really could use, since I get dry there, and my concealers dry it out more.

Any good suggestions you swear by? And please tell me why and what you like about it, maybe what your skin is like? Tku!

fyi...the last eye cream I had was a DD gel cream that came with a whole kit of hers. It went on nice, felt cooling & emollient, but I wouldn't say my undereyes stayed moisturized looking after it dried down, or that it had any longterm effects. So I'm looking for better.

@amyb If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, please try the Supremely Hydrating Eye Cream.

I think it's still $5.99 for .53 oz.

I try every eye cream from expensive to more expensive.

My face is combo/oily, but my eye area is dry & I need all of the moisture there that I can get.

TJ is great.

I like Acure Radically Rejuvenating Eye Cream ($14.99 for 1 oz) & Vichy Mineral 89 Eye Serum ($26.99) but I always have TJ when I can get there.

@amyb, the eye cream ' myth' has been debunked. There is no difference in an eye cream

than other moisturizers. I use argon oil all over my face and eyes.

Thanks @Dusty1 I do have a TJ's fairly near me...I get there occasionally; I'll check for it next time I'm there. I like a lot of their toiletries...I've used their Eucalyptus Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. I also love a Coconut Creamy Hair Conditioner they sell, a lot...my hair comes very nice with it. All very affodable...and worth trying their eye cream. Tks for the recommend.

While I tend to agree with the sentiment expressed here that basically moisturizer is moistuurizer, and why I've rarely bought just eye creams over the years, I also think certain eye creams, formulated, extra emollient especially for eyes, can sometimes be a nice addition for those wanting extra moisture there.

@ellaphant I can see where if Argon oil works for you, you can just use that all over, including under eyes, with nothing additional. Argon Oil is not my favorite, and especially not under my eyes, oils irritate my eyes, making them tear all day. So I prefer regular moisturizing creams on my face. But thanks for the input.

My very fave is the avocado eye cream by Kiehls---it is very moisturizing and that's just what I use it for--no eye cream does the miracles 99.9% of the vendors say it will do--I don't expect anything but to moisturize and it does that perfectly!!

@wagirl I use that Kiehl's eye cream as well. It seems to do a great job under concealer by day and has enough moisture for me now at night.

After the cataract surgery, my doc said to be careful w/ very moisture rich eye creams that can run into my eyes. Not going through that surgery again so following doctor's orders.

@Shanus --I haven't had that issue with an eye cream, mostly with shadows or concealors around my eye tho-- but have not had catartact surgery --yet either. So good advice to keep in mind.

I use KORA BERRY BRIGHT VITAMIN C EYE CREAM. It is almost like a thin Vaseline but goes right into my skin. Seems to flatten out the wrinkles and leaves a glass like finish. Any concealer I put over it goes on smoothly. I have eye allergies and it doe not bother my eyes.

I've been using Mad Hippie eye cream in the am and Beauty of Joseon eye cream at night. Both are moisturizing, work well with other products, and don't irritate my undereye.

@Shanus, that advice was not to keep you from getting another catracts. Getting moisturizer in your eyes is an irritant, but it won't cause a cataract. Those are mostly due to age and genetics. You can't get another catract in an eye once one is removed. A catract is a clouding of the lens which they remove and replace with an artificial lens.

I use different ones for different things, use one for the lids, I like serums or gels for daytime, and heavier creams for over night.

I've used StriVectin Eye Cream for many years, used other eye creams but keep going back to StriVectin.

I have used the DD collegan eye cream for a few years and love it. You only need a little amount and it works for me. I have very fair and sensitive skin with allergies . It works wonders on my darck circles. I also like her Wrinkle Defense product for daytime. It does smooth out the lines anywear on the face.

Strivectin has several different eye creams, I have tried a few of them with no results.

I respectfully disagree. The skin under your eyes is much thinner. Moisturizers designed for the face might be too heavy and can cause potential milia. An oil is a different matter.

I don’t typically use an eye cream/ I don’t have dry undereyes or a lot of wrinkles. But every once in awhile I get a little sample free with my biossance order. It’s very nice. For me my moisturizer and a dab of my copper peptides is enough

@amyb The eye cream that I've been using for the past several years is Murad Renewing Eye Cream. It moisturizes without leaving a greasy after feel, and gives a smoother appearance to the eye area. It also doesn't give that dreaded milia around the eyes. Although pricey, $89.00 for a 0.5 oz. container, it lasts about three months (using AM/PM) and I always use discounts/cashback options to purchase at a lower price.
