My appointment with the plastic surgeon went very well and have scheduled my surgery for mid March--could have gotten one for December but that month is too busy and really, March is just fine. I really liked the Dr--he is a young guy in practice with his dad and located, nearly, in my back yard--at the hospital I had all my cancer stuff done--so am very familiar with it all--it's about 15 minutes from my apartment. And what I especially liked was that he did not push or even suggest that I do a "little" more while I was under anesthesia. I do have a few lines between my brows and then those lovely marionette lines and a slight saggy jawline but nothing too awful--am 70 after all and am ok with that--not trying to look 25 again. I have good volume in my cheeks and upper eyelid is fine too and over all texture and fullness is pretty good for being 70. Was there for about 45 minutes--DD went with. Cost is right where I expected, even less actually, $8500 for everything including follow up appts. --I budgeted 10k.

Also @KittySoftPaws --I did ask about the issue you brought up and this Dr did explain to me the differences between them---and there is a small procedure he will do at each outside corner of my eye, to prevent that type of side effect--will be done on the outside of the eye and not inside---I feel good about that but am glad you brought that up--thanks again. Got many photos taken of my face too--so he could show me what he wants to do and where and HOLY COW--I look so horrible tired --was embarrassing--- and I am exhausted--- as my sleeping #UCKS!!! Will be addressing that problem later this month. So was kind of fun--

Today, I have an appointment to see a plastic surgeon about my eye bags. Found an office in the local hospital that I did /do all my health stuff at and got a consult appt today. Will cost $150 up front as --of course--medicare won't cover it --not a needed procedure--as I knew. I'm kind of excited about it!!! And of course, IF I decide to go for it, it won't be until next year--prob by some months---and that's fine too. Was going to do this for my --to me from me, b-day gift for my 70th, but DS got married in Sept so gifted them my "baggage" removal $$ for their honeymoon. Shoud be interesting.

Having thought about this procedure myself over the years, mine is hereditary, I thought it best to fill you in on what I have learned about it. It's likely your Dr. may not mention this as a possibility of this procedure. When they cut the lower lid to remove fat pockets, they cut from the outside, and what can end up happening is that the lower lid can end up sagging forward and pushing outward. It's called Ectropian and it can occur as a result of this surgery, causing the tears in the eyes to flow out causing drynees of the Cornea and this can lead to many other issues. There are however Doctors that cut the lower lid from the inside of the eye so there won't be the issues mentioned. I myself have decided against it altogether. My glasses conceal mine anyway. I hope this didn't take away your excitment, not my intention. I have worked my whole life's career in the eye care industry so it's something I take seriously. Just something to think about.

I dont have under eye bags but I have puffiness on my upper cheek bones, would love to have this surgically removed. It affects my profile which is not becoming. But I will say when I take the time to use either PTR FirmX or the Westmore product like it, I do see a decent improvement.

I've thought of the eyebag surgery.........but I'm also thinking of surgery for my upper arms. It's not unusual to have to purchase clothing 1 size larger just to get the shoulders and arms to fit. I also think manufacturers are making arms and shoulders smaller.

Eye-bag reduction can also be done using lasers where there is no cutting involved. Might not be a good option for some people...very old or people with severe bags/laxity.

Most were too far for me to get to easily as I don't drive anymore--but just happened to look at my local hospital and was shocked to find this office. It had many very good reviews and then meeting the Dr and his staff--felt very good about it all. I've had many surgeries--not on my face, but am not nervous about this one. This one should be the least awful of the many I have had and after going thru the cancer "adventure" nothing fazes me much!!! And this appt is 6 months out so if I decide not to go thru it--I have lots of time. This dr is a plastic surgeon, saw one post here that said she used a derm dr., so there is one more to research. Hadn't thought about a derm dr myself--I may look into it just to see. Also am wondering about an eye dr too--and be advised--none of this will be covered by insurance at all--is not a neccessary one for me.
