@JudyL I love cream/liquid blush!

I usually wear Fenty Soft Matte Powder Foundation. If I use liquid foundation it is Mac Studio Fix Fluid.

I just tap my finger in the liquid/cream & then starting on the apples of the cheeks start tapping the blush on. Blending & spreading it as I continue to tap.

I try to keep the color away from my hair line.

If I get color there it is easy to blend away with my fingers or a sponge.

Daniel Sandler Liquid Blush is my favorite.

I love the Wander Beauty Double Date Cream Blush.

Both brands work easily over my foundation & wear all day on my combo skin.

Yesterday I had posted about having an issue with using liquid/cream blush and it removing the foundation underneath when I applied it.

Now I'm thinking maybe I'm applying it wrong. So, please let me know how you apply your liquid/cream blush. Do you spray your foundation with setting spray first? Do you use a brush? Sponge?

What I do is add three small dots high up on my cheekbones going up to my temples and then I use a brush to lightly put it on with a tapping motion.

I also really don't wear a lot of foundation since I don't need it. I found a foundation that matches my complexion perfectly and I only blend a little onto my cheeks.

I apply blush after doing my eye makeup which I apply after my foundation, so there's plenty of time for the foundation to dry.

If it's liquid, I put a small amount on my fingertips and rub them together until they'r mostly dry and then lightly tap onto my cheeks.

If it's a cream, I have a fluffy angled brush, Sonia Kashuk 109, that I just sweep over the blush and then onto my cheeks.

There's another method I've read about applying contour and blush prior to foundation. It's supposed to give a more natural look. I tried it with my contour but felt like it just disappeared. Do a search for it. There are some Youtube videos. There's a name for that technique, but I can't remember it, Under something I thinks.

I put my foundation on with a brush, then spray a sponge with setting spray, and blend my foundation one more time with the sponge. I let that dry while I do my brows, then I apply my cream bronzer and blush. I repeat with the damp sponge after that as well.

Hi Everyone. Thank you all for your suggestions. Appreciate it very much to all you took the time to post a comment. Tried something this morning and it worked great! Will try and keep this short:

Skin care done and let it sit a bit. Then primer, then skin tint/foundation and let that sit while I did brows, eyes, and concealer. Then applied a little powder to nose and cheeks - which I would do normally anyway - then powder blush. Spray with setting spray and let that dry down for a minute or so. Then put a tiny bit of liquid blush on the back of my hand and took a tiny dot on my finger and gently tapped it onto my cheeks. It worked great! Nothing moved, foundation and powder blush stayed in place and it's looked great all day so far. I'm so happy to have found what seems like a solution for when I want to use a liquid or cream blush. Thanks again everyone!

If a hot and sweaty day, I'll set it lightly with LM Loose Powder, but usually it stays. I think the brand and formula makes a difference. Makeup By Mario cream blushes are not as oily and seem to stay better longer.

I agree with @nyc1 I use a small Elf stippling brush in my cream blush. Just dab it on and that's it. I don't sweep it on at all. Just sort of push it onto the skin. I haven't tried a liguid blush probably since high school so not sure how it would work for that. Liguid seems potentially to messy and hard to work with for my talents.
