I purchased the PTR TSV, as I have had good results with his retinol serum over the years.

What I don't understand is that you only use the included eye product UNDER the eye. I know that the eye tissue is different from the rest of the face, and that the area around the eye is thinner skin and requires different products. But if the product is good for under the eye, why isn't it good for the eyelid?

I have been trying out many eye creams (Estee Lauder, Dr. Denese, IT, Suzanne Somers, Shiseida, Badescue, Tatcha, Perricone, etc.) over the years. None of the ones I have tried say just put under the eye, not on the eyelid.

In the case of the TSV, during the presentation Amy said to put the face cream over the eyelid, and that is how it was demonstrated by the model and Peter's son. Just doesn't make sense to me to put the face cream on the eyelid, since that whole area is so delicate.

It makes sense to me that IF his eye product is not good for the eyelid, then the face cream would be too strong. It almost makes me want to continue with my other eye products instead of using his eye cream.

Any thoughts or enlightenment on the eye product's usage?

I use it on my entire eye. I have never had any issues.

@World Traveler A lot of eye creams should never be used on the lid because as they sink in, they can drift downward and creep into your eye. Using it on the upper eye area above your lid is fine.

I don't use any eye cream above the eye much less on the eyelid. I tired using an eye cream on the area above my eye once and developed one of those hard white bumps, so I don't do that anymore.

@nyc1Oh, I never thought of that.......absorbing thru the lid into the eye. Well, that makes sense.

I recall when I was using Shiseido that I seemed to frequently get a stinging feeling in my eyes, and I just thought I hadn't been careful enough when applying. And I never had that problem with the other brands. So that must have been what was happening with that brand.....seeping thru the eyelid. Thank you!

I didn't even know that you could put the retinol on the eyelid, but that's what I got from the first presentation of the day; that's what the model did. Don't recall if his son did that.

I always use an eye cream on my lids, just be sure it says it is appropriate for lid use, many of them do, and many say for undereye only. Some are labeled as eye cream for the lids. I am using one now by Dermelect that is a specific eyelid cream.

Isomers has a few that Manuela recommends highly for the lids. Dr Denese used to make one that was upper eye specific but she discontinued it.

@World Traveler And also migrating downward toward your eyelashes. You can be as careful as can be, put the product may still slip forward when drying.

@Shelbelle If at all possible, I would like to use as few products as possible. I haven't noticed any of the eye products I already have used that it was to be just for the under eye or just the lid. I would just love to have a face product and an eye product instead of face, upper eye, lid, and/or under eye. Trying to make my counter less cluttered. ha!

Anyway, I was just surprised by the presentation and it got me thinking about why there may be a product that can't take care of all the eye area.

Isomers has a few eye products that Manuela recommends for the entire eye area as well as lids, Plasma 200, Orchid eye serum and her Mezmereyez.

Nakery has a new Eye cream that is designated as 360 use, meaning fine for the lids.

I do think his masks contain artificial dyes, I dont like using dyes on my skin.
