Less is More Trend

Been really noticing lately ..... less makeup on all women ..... I cannot say it's due to the "natural" look we may think. I believe it has to do with plastic surgery and enhancements readily available. Plus all the ozempic faces need injections.... when you add lashes and heavy makeup you look like a puppet.

I don't wear much makeup simply it's to hot and I would just sweat it off. Even in winter I don't wear all that much. Just foundation and blusher. Occasionally mascara. No fake lashes, lipstick etc.

I guess I am wearing less make-up. Hard to believe I'd be trendy! LOL!

We moved to a hot climate, I no longer attend as many "fancy" functions, and as I am aging it doesn't look so great to have my face as made up as my younger years!

Me too--I hardly ever wear a full face of make up --only when I am going out to a social function--even just out running errands I don't wear much, just spf---EXCEPT!!------for my brows--- that is a must!! I went thru chemo so lost ALL my hair for a few months and I looked like a ghost as I was so pale with just eyes --so I got very good at drawing them on --made me look so much better. And still does, I think , now. I do wear lip gloss tho.

Living and working my entire life with working class and middle class people, as I am, cosmetic procedures are rare to see. So IMO, the trend of less makeup is just that, a trend, and nothing to do with cosmetic procedure advancements or that they are readily available these days. What I do see most often in the way of makeup is false eyelashes and lots of lipgloss.

Less is more, for me, when it comes to my eyeshadow application. Since discovering RMS Beauty Eyelights, I'm no longer bothering with the 3-4 colors of eyeshadow. I still use a pale vanilla or champagne color under my eyebrow, but the Eyelight shadow goes from the lid to the brow bone, and that's all I do there. Once in awhile, if I want a touch more glam, and that's not very often, I'll do a little darker shadow at the outer corners and blend it in. The trick with the Eyelights is to use very little product and blend quickly. Fingers are OK, but I prefer a brush.

Wearing less makeup has nothing to do with PS or enhancements. People have been getting 'work done' for eons and that hasn't changed the 'face of makeup'.

Good skincare might reduce the need to wear makeup.

I am wearing less foundation and I feel I look good. I am choosing to wear a BB tinted moisturizer when I go out. I have become used to the light feel of the BB cream, and regular foundation feels heavy to me now. When leaving the house, I usually wear a moisturizing sunscreen, sometimes the BB cream, eyeliner, brows and a moisturizing lip stain. I feel confident with this routine.

It might be a generational thing, too. Most of my peers (GenX) and the Millennials behind me have had Botox, some filler, boob jobs, lasers, lash extensions, hair extensions, and other non-invasive and invasive procedures. I live in SoCal, though; appearance is critical for employment in specific industries.

As I have aged, I still wear makeup, however. I use a lighter hand when applying and have a more neutral eye palette. I no longer wear blush as I have no need of it with rosacea cheeks. I no longer can wear the nude colors on my lips as I am fair with silver hair and must have a pink or rosy tint to my lips these days...just in a different season of life so one must make subtle changes.

@ monicakm. Need rec for a good Peach pink Fair Irich , brown eyes. Hair beginning turning gray in places/ I have listene to sales people in dept store puchase when I get home it looks terrible. Now I am 2 x 35 so don't want red. You are my GO to. I have followed sev of your rec and always have been happy. Really not crazy about drug store lips. LIKE Amazon.!! Quick arriving Usually next day. Since being flat on my back have been not able to drive. Finding an improvement every day. I need to learn VIRTUE of Patience However that has never been one of myvirtues!! LOL. Hope you are well my friend. Beginning to think sp. is not either. I understand and agree. I have a good friend who is a realtor and sells properties valued in the 7 digits. She has been getting topical and surgical things done for years. It is almost a necessity for certain careers.

I'm wearing a foundation with less coverage, but I'm still wearing a full face of makeup when I wear it. It only takes me about 30 minutes to do my makeup, so I'm happy with the makeup looks that I do . I guess I'll say in my case that a little less is more

I don't wear much makeup nor do any of my friends .... just the basics.

I'm very fair - oily skin - so all my makeup is powder.

Once over brush with Cover Girl (compact), a swish of bronzer and blush. Lip gloss. That's it. Takes me about 5 minutes.

I wear glasses and have sensitive eyes ... no eye makeup at all.

I have always had very light eyebrows but very thick and very thick, long curly lashes (a triple thickness). With chemo, I lost all that. When it came back (I was on male hormones) I have bushy eyebrows and short lashes on top and none on bottom. I don't wear artificial anything and very little makeup. Like you, unless I am going to a social function, church, club or luncheon, I do without.

I totally agree. Nothing as ugly as a face full of makeup with false eyelashes, puffed-up lips, tattooed eyeliner and even eyebrows with heavy make-up including lips and blush-come-rouge.

For all those who have nips, tucks, botox, plastic surgery, tattooed eyebrows, eyeliners and all that who say they must have it in order to find work: I say a lot of vanity and a mix of insanity and willing to jump from couch to bed.

My less is more started when I left the Fortune 100 world and no longer had to look my role. Even then, my make-up was subtle and minimal. It's just not my thing, but I knew it was part of the corporate "uniform". Now it's just moisturizer, waterproof mascara and tinted lip balm most days. Some days it's not even that. If someone wants to look at me negatively because of it, that's their problem.

My skin has been looking good with monthly facials and professional skincare, so just skincare, supergoop spf, no foundation. I have to do brows, concealer under eyes, one shadow, mascara and lips. I just retired and this is an easy look for typical days.
