Foundation shade question!!

If you are between two shades of color on foundation, is it better to go a shade lighter or darker. I have been using a tinted moisturizer for years that is one shade. Now I have no idea, but I have narrowed it down to 2 shades.

@LadybugDG - I prefer to go lighter and to warm up my skin with blush and bronzer. @Shanus will be hopefully chime in soon.

@LadybugDG - I'd go lighter. You can always warm it up with a drop of something else in your aresenal or a little bronzer.

Once ypu apply blush, the shade of foundation kind of gets lost, if you know what I mean, so I usually go a little lighter.

I mix the IT CC Cream light medium and light - half and half - it's perfect.

Go with the lighter shade and one which matches your neck the closest.

Great question! I've always wondered which to go with too. In the summer I sometimes go darker, but lighter in the winter. Sometimes, I've even mixed the two if I have both shades.❤️

I go lighter. I think it brightens up the face.

@LadybugDG I agree with @JudyL ...go lighter w/ the shade. You can use a bit of bronzer or blush or both to color correct, but going too dark can never be brought back to your natural skin color.

I have a large head, one of those who can't buy hats unless it's in the men's department. So I have a large face. Used to be a round face, but as the years passed, not as much. I am very fair. I made the mistake of getting Laura's last TSV in porcelain. Although it is a perfect match, I look and feel like a big ole pasty moon face. With all due respect to the experts, I prefer foundation slightly darker than my natural skin tone.

My mother always mixed 2 shades and if she had a bit more color in the summer she'd use the darker of the 2.
