BTW - I have seen this IRL. For me, I usually find a rest room w air conditioner.

Well actually, overall crime rate is down in NYC and Manhatten is considered to be very safe.

In fact, overall crime is down throughout the US.

But what I find fascinating about the photo posted by op, is a cordless flatiron. I had no idea that was available. I don't use a flatiron, so that may explain why I wasn't aware of such a product. I also thought her hair looked fab with a curl.

@kate2357 - I was curious about NYC so checked online and NYC is in the top 15 safest big cities in the world. Wondered how the young woman in the pic heated up her flat iron too, then I saw the charging cord coming out of her phone. Maybe that's how she charged it? When working, I saw all sorts of makeup being applied on the subway. Always wondered how those young ladies did that without poking themselves in the eye. LOL

I live on Long Island just outside the city. No i don’t believe the statistics going by news reports. I refuse to go to any of the five boroughs with the exception of Staten Island, but have no reason to go there.

Yes it's been pretty humid the last couple of days....I hate the high humidity!

As far as crime stats go, it depends on who is posting those statistics. According to the NYPost:

"NYC serious crimes hit levels unseen in two decades last year even as Mayor Adams claims ‘crime is down’".

So there are some who claim crime is up and some who claim it is down. Statistics can be made to say what one wants it to say. There is a book called, "How to lie with Statistics".

Just be cautious when going out in general.
