Philosophy shower gel used as shampoo ~

Has anyone used it recently as a shampoo ? They always say its 3 in 1 but seems like everyone uses it as a body wash .

Can anyone give their experience using it as a shampoo.

I only tried it ONCE.....then I learned my lesson.

My hair was a tangled mess and after air drying, it felt like straw.

I don't have any chemicals or color on my hair.

@CoastalGal - I had the same experience as @KingstonMom but it was a few years ago. Assume it would still happen today as their formula hasn't changed.

DH uses it to wash his hair every day. He has oily hair.

I used it a few times but it is very drying especially after I am used to WEN and Tweaked. I only recommend as body wash and I also refill hand wash bottles with it.

Yes, i consider the 3 in 1 destination correct. I wash my hair with some of my favorite scents. It rinses it out fine. I don't think I'd use it on long hair.

@CoastalGal I tried it once and it was very drying. My hair is naturally dry and curly/coarse and it made it worse. I also color my hair and read somewhere that Philosophy shower gel is not recommended for color treated hair.

I would never use that on my hair. I am not even sure I like it as a body wash, as I think it is drying out my skin. Once I am done with my vast supply, I don't think I will order any more.

I wash my hair every other day with the 3 n 1. I always use the shampoo twice to make certain my hair is very clean. I use a detangler spray on my hair when I get out of the shower. I do not find my hair unmanagable or dry. I have been using it this way for about 3 years. I don't consider my skin to be oily and have had no problems. I think the best way to find out if this product works for you is to try it one or two times. You can always go back to what you use currently.

Full of sulfates, and dyes, I would not use it on my hair or body.

I’ve done it in a pinch. It’s fine, but I pay a lot of money for color and I baby it.

Never in my hair. learned my lesson after using it in a pinch on vacation. Yikes! Hair like straw and tangled badly.

But my favorite hack is to use it to hand wash my underwear. Cleans thoroughly and beautifully, and leaves my intimates with a fabulous scent!!

I've been using WEN and Tweak'd so long that when i use shampoo my hair feels very dry ( even the Tweak'd Shampoo) I guess shampoo always does that and thats why we need a good conditioner .

Do you remember when Philosohy had Grace hair products ?

Sometimes I use the shower gel as a shampoo. I always follow with a rich conditioner.

I do---its the only thing that doesn't make my very thin straight, pixie length hair go limp ---I have prob 5 different shampoos that are in my shower right now, that are a huge waste of space and $$, despite the life changing promises they say I will get. I never use conditioner either----right now, I am using Gingerbread Man.

@CoastalGal I tried to years ago but it made my hair become really oily rough feeling? I think my scalp rebounded w/extra oil since the 3-in-1 was very stripping.

I totally loved the Grace shampoos and haircair!

I used it a few times and my hair tangled more than usual and it also styled weirdly.

I do use the Josie Maran Everybody wash now to wash my hair and my hair responds beautifully to that one.

I no longer buy the Philosophy Perfume Sets with the body wash and body crème's or lotions. I don't like those and they're left over, hanging around for months on end.

I just buy the perfume alone when I want it.

I still like using Purity. I use it as a clarifying shampoo at times. No tangles.

I did it once and it made my hair feel like plastic doll hair.
