Head & Shoulders Shampoo for Acne

A content creator I recently started following shared that she's been using Head & Shoulders since she was a teen after a dermatologist recommended it. He said it's good for acne because of the zinc in it and she's maintained a clear complexion. She did an experiment, stopping it and trying what she called fancier skincare. She broke out. When she quit the fancy stuff and resumed the H&S she noticed improvement within days.

@JeanLouiseFinch - kind of along the same lines, I heard years ago that Selsun Blue helps with rosacea. If I get a pretty significant breakout, I put a tiny bit of selsun blue on my face, just on the rosacea breakout in the shower for about 30 seconds and it does seem to help some.

Also in a similar way--we used to have a white American Bulldog with many skin issues (white dog syndrome). One vet told us to bathe her with Head and Shoulders. It helped and worked better than many of the medicated shampoos.

Try it if your pet has itchy irritated skin. What harm could it do?

On another note, I have been touch and go with cystic acne, the big, hard, sore cysts adults get.

My derm told me to get this. It keeps the pores cleaned out. Love it.

Thank you for sharing this information. My dog is allergic to chicken (which is in everything), and I am always looking for reasonably priced ways to soothe her skin.

@Squirrels Are Trash I had a West Highland Terrier that was allergic to chicken. The only dog food I found that did not contain chicken was Iames lamb and rice. She loved it and no more allergy symptoms.
