SSC Debut Show

I'm watching the debut show of Serious Skin Care as I type. To me, the prices have been really expensive, especially when compared to the awesome values they used to offer in kits. I may just get the glycolic cleanser. I'm really disappointed.😔

@cheriere @Exactly! The prices are very, very high, as compared to what they sold the kits for on HSN. Wow, I remember huge ****** with all the goodies, and sometimes they would include bags as well. This is an easy pass.

I know! I was actually looking forward to this show because I figured you can't have a great SSC premiere show without some GREAT kits....what happened?

I had a feeling that those days were over, and they are.

Remember the holiday beauty boxes? If they last that long here, it will be interesting to see if they do those. If so, I expect shrinkflation.

I may be in the minority, but I was never a fan of the glycolic cleanser, had a sour smell to it and I didnt like the consistancy either. I preferred their C and A cleansers.

I am guessing it was about 5 years ago, then they went to SHQ for a year or so.

I rather doubt, even if they went back to HSN, that they would do the kits of old. Skinn isn't doing them over there, and I believe he used to do them on the previous shopping channel he was on. I think that ship has sailed.

@Icegoddess they must have left HSN for a reason or they would still be there. Maybe their sales were down - all companies look at sales and if they don't meet their quotas tout they go. I'm sure all the competition of other skin care lines had a lot to do with it.

That's the huge difference between QVC and HSN.

QVC overprices everything with lesser values, with only few free shipping offers.

Maybe they hope customers won't notice or care that most everything they offer is 2-3 times as much as it can be gotten anywhere else.

HSN has always had fair and much more attractive pricing on most everything with coupons and free shipping a lot of times too.

Though many things have gone up at many places as they do throughout the decades,

I think QVC wins the prize on inflating everything faster and more than most. Their "sales" are only a few dollars off.

I guess they have enough customers who keep on buying a lot to keep them in business.

Sometimes, though very rarely now, I'll see something I like enough to order it as I"m sure many do. Usually it's a clearance item. Sometimes a TSV once a year or 2.

I realize I'm not their ideal customer anymore.

But I bet a lot would appreciate better deals especially with introducing a product. Maybe they are hoping people were so looking forward to SSC that they will buy at QVC prices.

I'm still a big fan of SSC. I love John. He's so handsome but Jen needs to be there with him. Prices are high which does not surprise me. I didn't expect kits because it's the first show and Q would never do that. No free shipping. Sad. Oh well. I have a great stash but I would like to try the SSC x Pinsky line someday. Not today I guess.

I'm curious why one show? Is this an Liz Grant thing to "try out" a brand and see if it sells on the Q?

I enjoyed the show. John is so handsome and very personable. Shawn was great as usual. I ordered the glycolic cleanser. I am looking forward to the next show.

Just watched some of the videos from the presentations. Basically, am in agreement, wishing prices were better and kits. Probably will only buy in future when there is a sale prices.

@cheriere I'm not a fan of any cleanser with an active like glycolic since it washes off and not on the skin long enough like a glycolic pad or serum.
