I Had RHA Lip Injections Today 💋

I've lost volume in my lips as I've aged and always said this is the one area I definitely had a desire to one day cosmetically augment.

Well today was the day, and I am beyond pleased. I barely can express my total and extreme pleasure with the results. I've been losing volume and definition on the outer corners of my lower lip, resulting in what I call a kewpie doll look. I hated how that looked. And of course the overall plumpness in both my top and bottom lips has lessened with age as well.

I wanted an understated yet natural procedure that would give me back my younger looking lips.

I'd heard about RHA, (Resilient Hyaluronic Acid) and was referred to an Aesthetician while visiting with my sister. We had a consultation Tuesday and scheduled the procedure today. I was very impressed with her total viewpoints...less is more and a goal to achieve a natural appearance for her clients.

RHA is said to last longer than other available fillers. Some say as long as 18 months depending on the location. With lips, possibly up to a year.

I also had a small amount of Botox injected in the cheek muscle that affects that downward curve on the corners of our mouth, that gives an angry look. This may have to be repeated in 3 months. But I can see a slight difference just since late this afternoon.

Has anyone else had an RHA filler? What were your results?

Thanks @JudyL . She put a little Vaseline on my lips after the procedure, which really wasn't bad, btw.

My sister doesn't have much in the lip department either. Of course, lessening with age. She was also scheduled for RHA today too but has to wait until a coldsore near her lip completely heals. But, it'll be most interesting to see the rejuvenation of her slender lips. Plus she has some deeper upper lip lines too. Stay tuned!

Thank you! Trust me. I am equally impressed...bordering on being blown away. I keep asking my sister if they're still there. This has been just too darn cool! 🤔😲👍😊💋

Very minimal pain, if I'd even call it that after the numbing cream wore off. I'd actually call it a slight, very slight discomfort to be honest. Minimal swelling as well.

The numbing cream did not completely mask the injection sting. Multiple tiny needles were used. My bottom lip was treated first. I tolerated it well and trust me I am a wuss. Plus, it didn't take that long either. She said the upper lip is more sensitive but I was prepped and psychologically primed. Those tiny needle pr*cks do sting for a second or two and were not long lasting as she worked along my lip. The injections I've had in my knee were x1000 worse in terms of discomfort both during and after. Actually the numbing cream was probably the weirdest sensation. I'm not fond of the same with dental procedures
