Beauty Purchases This Week; 10/19/23

Good morning! It's Thursday and time to let us know what you purchased this past week and how you like it or maybe don't like it? Is it a new-to-you purchase or an old favorite?

Here's my list:

RMS Beauty - I'm continuing to love her blushes so this week I purchased Maiden's Blush and Mai Tai. Love them both. Maiden's Blush is a neutral blush with a hint of pink and Mai Tai is a coral blush. All the blushes that I have bought from RMS are starting to push out my other blushes. These work so well for me - last all day, go on easily and blend beautifully, look so pretty and never over the top intense. Also purchased her Concealer in 22 and 22.5. Just tested them for color and think they will work for me but it was too hot yesterday and will be again today for me to put makeup on so will wait until over the weekend when it's cooler to try these out.

ULTA - These lipsticks were a part of my hunt for a red option - Revlon Super Lustrous in Fire and Ice, tried it and not so good but will try it again before deciding. ELF O Face lipstick in No Regreats and Standing Ovation. No Regrets is the red option and not sure about this one either but going to try it once more before deciding. Standing Ovation is not red, it's a more neutral shade, touch of brown. Looks great with Laura Geller's Happy Hazelnut lip liner. Oh and ELF Dirty Talk lipstick which is supposedly like Charlotte Tillbury's Pillow Talk but it's too bland for me on its own so will try with different lip liners to see if I like it better. Two lipliners one from NYX and one from LA GIRL to go with the red lipsticks. Can't remember their names but will keep for now.

Have ordered a few things but they haven't arrived. Will mention them next week.

I repurchased my favorite cleaning balm The Beauty of Joseon Radiance cleansing balm and my favorite sunscreen OMI Verdio UV Moisture Gel SPF 50 from the Korean Beauty Site YES STYLE . I also purchased a new cleanser . I am almost finished with my current Pacifica cleanser ( which i do like ) . Dr Dray has mentioned this cleanser a few times and I have enjoyed all my Instree previous purchases from Yes Style as well . It is called Instree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser . I also order a set of the JULEP cream to powder eyeshadow stick duo in Copper & Cocoa . I previously purchased from Amazon. I went to the Julep site and if you sign up and order its 35% off your first order . that is a nice saving plus the duos is $4 off the separate price ($28 instead of $32 ) so it was a good purchase all around .

Had a 25percent-off coupon, so placed my usual order on Amara Beauty this morning. Love their Vitamin C serum and Retinol cream.

Got a nice compliment on my complexion yesterday. Woohoo.

I replenished my JVN Intenvise Hydration Mask and Instant Recovery Serum. I use the mask once a week and the serum acts as a heat protectant when I blow dry my hair.

Also DD bought me Clinique's Pink Honey Almost Lipstick. I haven't tried it yet.

Purchase I forgot to include last week -

F3 Systems Ceramic Coated Thermal Round Brush - I wanted a new round brush and felt the ceramic coating would be safer than having having my hair wrapped over hot metal.

This week-

Skinn Pep40 Creme Riche A/S - I’ve been waiting for this to return so I could get it back in my routine. I hope I like it as much as I used to. I’m not giving up the Creme Reverse, though. The Creme Reverse is my AM moisturizer and the Pep 40 will be my PM. Time will tell, if I continue with it.

Silicone Dual Ended Spatula & Face Brush Duo - just like the one that Skinn sells on hsn but I got 2/$7.99

Skinn Redensify Neck Amour Serum Duo - the duo was slightly more $ than my A/S plan for a single so I bought it and pushed out the shipping in my plan until next spring, but will adjust as necessary.

4 more big bars of Beekman fragrance free soap-only thing I use for bathing.

3 more Rimmel eyebrow pencils. A favorite, stays on all day (and all night) if I don't wipe off. Only kind I use. Been using it for years. And it's cheap. $

1 more NYX lip liner in Nude Pink. My favorite also.

Hi @JudyL and All the Beauties!!

Today, I stopped at Sephora I didn't need anything but I needed a little retail therapy treat. As I meandered around I stumbled upon Fenty Skin. I didn't even know Fenty was doing a skin care line. I bought the lip mask and lip oil. Both are a duo. I felt like I was buying too much lip care.... but isn't excess the point of retail therapy???

Not much else was bought this week- Cerave make up remover wipes. I like these because they supposedly don't disturb the skin barrier and they are biodegradable.

OMG! I almost forgot-- I bought the tweaked scalp treatment that is volumizing. You squeeze a drop on to your scalp and then rub it in to activate it. I have only used it once and very little because I worked this week and didn't want to have to wash my hair. LOL. I will do a review once I get to use it more.

I bought some more items from Laura Geller's site:

I bought a Blush N Brighten in Starfish Island. It's shades of pink, raspberry, and champagne.

I bought her Prep-n-Go Lip Scrub and Tint Duo in the color "First Place," which is a magenta-pink color.

It's a combo. lip scrub stick on one end with a lip oil on the other end. I already have her lipstick tube Prep. Scrub and really like it. My lips get so dry and dehydrated that I find that this scrub helps. I only use it when I feel that I need it.

I also bought her latest holiday limited edition Jelly Balm Hydrating Lip Color in Very Black Cherry. It looks dark in the tube, but it's a sheer red. It looks really beautiful. @JudyL , I'm wondering if you'd be interested in this shade, since you've been looking for a new shade of red to wear.

Since I'm really fair-skinned, I also need to be careful with what shades of red that I wear. Anything that's too coral-based or too orange-based doesn't wear well with me.

I also bought her Gorgeous in Gold Limited Edition Lipstick Trio. They're coated in gold only on the outside. They're different shades of pink on the inside--a neutral pink, a pink, and a mauve-pink.

Thanks @Toppers3 for thinking of me. I wonder if Laura's Very Black Cherry is like the Clinique one. If so, I have the Clinique one but I will take a look at Laura's as it may be a good alternative.

@JudyL ,I have the Clinique Black Honey too, and I don't know that it's like Very Black Cherry? I had thought about that before I ordered Laura's Very Black Cherry.

I'll be curious to find out.

I try not to order dupes of colors when I buy lipsticks unless I really like a color. I usually like to try different colors and have different colors on hand.

I already have a few berry lip colors, so I'm also looking for a red.

I looked at the model wearing the Black Cherry on Laura's site, and as I mentioned, it looks like a sheer red.

I'l let all of you know when I get it and I have a chance to compare the Black Honey with the Black Cherry.

I just put the order in at Laura's site last night so I probably won't see it until some time next week. Her orders usually take about a week or so to get to me in the mail.
