AZALAIC ACID CREAM 20%

A lady here suggested this cream and swore by it and I can't find where it was posted.

This lady has rosacea. I would not say I have rosacea but do have some redness living in this SoFl heat. A very fair skin that is easy to blush which leads to redness.

And so it does not give much directions but she swore it works. I have only put a bit on my cheeks twice a few minutes under my MAC fix studio foundation and it certainly is not getting red or worse, which is a good sign.

I rub in a small amount and it soaks real nice right in even though it is a cream. Not greasy.

So if anyone has any experience with this and how to use it I would so appreciate it. Does it take time to kick in as well?

It may be @Trinity11 who uses this product.

I use 10% and the directions only say apply to face a.m. and/or p.m.

I use it after cleansing and any water based type serum then wait 15 minutes before applying moisturizing products. You may need to build up a tolerance. I am able to use it with lactic acid but didn't go all in from the start.

I ordered it from place called Tara...something.

I don't use anything else so it's extremely non irritating. No dryness, nothing like I used to with sulphur like drugs many years ago.

I wish the lady would answer.

But no It was not kind Trinity who recommened it, I'm 99 percent positive.

BTW, I wanted to test it out yesterday and would you know it SoFlo in Norhern Palm Beach County was almost a low of 55 degrees this morning.

So it's hard to tell. Yikes. No problem, the heat will return to 88 anyday now.

Hi @Pink123 . I use a prescription for 15% azaelic acid. I use it every other day, sometimes everyday as needed, dependent upon whether I have redness. I do not have breakouts...never really did, just redness. My physician recently said a lot of my meds for vascular issues may be increasing my face to get red, though.

I have that cream and another preparation that is 14% Azelaic acid.

From my perspective, this so-called "acid" is really very skin-friendly!

I'm not sure of the science as to why (I believe I heard somewhere that ir supports the bionome of the skin flora) and perhaps this is why those of us with rosacea do so well with it!

Also, when I use it on my neck, wait awhile and it exfoliates my skin like crazy!
THIS IS GOOD.

Ok, thanks so much @Trinity11 This one is non prescription but no burning or dryness like I did years ago and they did not work anyway and so stopped.

It's so mild and non drying. I'm the same as you. No real rosacea but one who is easy to blush be it medication or otherwise something else such as heat, which stays for awhile and mimics rosacea. A real problem for me especially in the tropics. Everyone says we had the worst summer ever.

the big test will be when we get back up to 89. As mentioned I just put some on my cheeks, just a bit as the lady said it goes a long way this morning. I let it settle and then put on my powder. Still no dryness like days of the old days when they started addressing rosacea.

I wish there was more direction on the box. I think with shipping I paid about 35.00.

Hi @Pink123 - I'm "the lady"! I have very mild rosacea that shows up as redness mostly on my cheeks. Sometimes a bit on my nose. I'm not quite sure what you're asking about usage but I can tell you that I use a pea-sized amount of the 20% cream you shared the photo of, putting it over any redness in my skin. A tiny amount dotted where I need it, gently rubbing it in, works for me. I use it in the morning before moisturizer and at night before tretinoin. I saw my redness disappear within days of first use. I've been using it daily for about a year now and I no longer have any red flares on my face. Does that answer your question?

@LTT1 This is promising news, thank you! It seems to be friendly to my fair skin so far.

So how do ou use it? Once a day, in between?

I don't like to put creams, etc. on my face at night as I'm a side sleeper and it get's my hair all greasy.

At bedtime, it's clean skin and I leave it alone. But then again I'm not a big beiever in all these serum's and more into laser methods. But I understand that those who like them.

Yes thank you for answering s timely @AspenGrove. I and others sure do appreciate it.

PS. I'm doing the same. Don't have it on nose, cheeks or forehead, only some redness on cheeks, especially when I eat food's I have an intolerance to a9but that is a whole other story).

It's indeed very mild and I use just a little dab around each cheek -- 10 minutes before powder. Thanks again.

I only have used that creme so far on my body...I have autoimmune lichen Planus and my skin just begs for exfoliation.

'What I use on my face is (as @Shelbelle @mentioned) Isomers 14%Azelaic acid morning and night. It is a cream form.

I'm trying to be diligent and lighten deep purple spots from this pesky condition! On another forum, someone said they eventually lightened up for them by using the Azelaic acid 20% and retinol.

LTT1, I am so very sorry to hear abput you suffering with lichen planus, I had an outbreak of it in 2011 and by 2013 I was in total remission, only had it one place, the feminine area, it was horrible. Had to treat with Clobetasol Cream.

@Effie54 I knew it but I can't fnd it on my computer. It came via USPS.

It had the name Kirk in it? I think? I tt was a very strange way of payng as well.

But so far so good.

Oh I'm sorry! Yes...mine decided to appear nearly everywhere...but started on my face! One little spot thst was there for 7 years!

The "spots" tend to go away and if I keep them exfoliated/moisturized it's pretty much staying under control.🩷
