Question About Dyson Hair Blow Dryers

A469997 and A635922 seem to be the exact same dryer, but there is a price difference.

Do any of you have experience with these? Are they so much different from others?

@beach-mom I haven't looked at the two item numbers you are referencing, but I know QVC sometimes has bundles or special colors that might be more or less expensive. As long as both are Dysons, they are using the same technology.

I have a model that the Q doesn't sell any more, it came with far fewer attachments than are now available. I don't often blow dry my hair, but I can tell you with confidence that the Dyson blow dryer is very much faster than any other brand I've ever used, and leaves my hair smooth and shiny, where other brands leave it rather frizzy, which, with my straight hair, is certainly because the heat is frying the hair. I won't use any other brand of blow dryer on my hair; it's aging, right along with the head it's growing out of, and doesn't grow as fast, so it needs more pampering than it used to.

@beach-mom Unless you made a typo, the first item number goes to a pair of Vince Camuto Quilted Heart Sandals. They are shown as sold out, which is weird, unless that's temporary. Maybe, when you saw the two listings, one of them was a mistake that has since been updated. 🤷‍♀️

Don't know the answer to your question - but one thing is for sure, Dyson hairdryers are by far, the best on the market ! Expensive and well worth it. I even have a spare just in case something happens to the first one, won't ever be without one again.

I have been thinking about getting a Dyson Hair Dryer for awhile but the price holds me back, good reviews about this dryer though. Amazon has one for $299.00 without attachments which I really don't use/need, Christmas is coming maybe I'll ask Santa.

I have senior hair, loves to get frizzy. I use a cheapie hairdryer. I certainly am tempted to try a Dyson even though I don't really understand the difference and hot air from one dryer compared to the other.. How can it be different?

@JeanLouiseFinch - You are right - I did make a mistake! Sorry! The item number should be A469987. Thanks for pointing that out!

DD is saving up and waiting for Sephora's sale to get one. When I saw QVC had them I talked to DH about making it her Christmas present. He was all for it!

I don't use blow dryers, so I don't know much about them!

I received the Dyson hair dryer for my birthday last year. We were in the middle of remodling so I tucked it away, unopened, until reno was finished. Meanwhile I saw the Dyson styling tool Air something I think (can't remember the real name) with all the attachments, including curling wands, etc. My question is this: is there any good reason to keep both? I don't want to open dryer if I'm going to sell it but I'm not certain if anyone uses both Dyson hair items?

I have had the Dyson for nearly a year now. I got it with all the attachments. I love the flyaway attachment as it makes my hair smooth and straight. I have thickish (thinning in temples) curly hair that I blow out straight. This Dyson gives me a blowout that looks like I've used a flat iron without using one. I like mine but notice a different result than when I use my Super Solano dryer. My hair feels a bit dryer after a blowout with the Dyson for some reason. And it's already stopped working on me once. Since I've had it less than a year Dyson sent me a new one upon return of my old one. If you have thick hair or curly hair, it's worth it. But I question how long the motor will last

Funny I was just looking at Dyson and after due diligence, found a Shark Hyper Air IQ. It is an squid not slightly better hair dryer. Got it for 149.00 because I used my Kohls cash and received 30 dollars back in more Kohls cash.

I like many was a BIG skeptic and finally made the plunge. It was at Costco with 5 attachments and a magnetic stand , which is nice for the lowest price I ever saw. Well boy lit is everything it is touted to be. My hair dries faster is way less frizzy and is looking so much better. With the money .

My Dyson is about 5 years old and I've been happy with it. It never died like my others did. I used to have longer hair, but even shorter hair, it really helps me straighten my wavy hair with my big brush. I also have the new Shark dryer and that works well also.
