Sure would save in the long run.

You should try the acne head. It is much more plush than the sensitive skin one. The bristles are softer and fuller, plus don't use it every day. Start once per week or a few times per week. This will give your skin a rest. Also don't use much pressure. Also as it flushes the gunk out, you may break out until all the pores are clear.

I love facials. Just went yesterday after a very long time and my skin is glowing. I used to go regularly when I was working, but now retired and have to watch those luxuries! But not sure if I should consider it a total luxury. I think my skin has been suffering and I did not realize it. It just looks so refreshed now. It was just a regular facial, not any peels ect. I think I need to try to budget this at least every other month. What is your opinion?

I used to get a facial once a month; my pores get congested very easily and quickly and I felt that it was the way to stay on top of it. I loved my esthetician and truly felt it was worth the money. This was about 4 or 5 years ago (about age 50). Then I read about the Clarisonic and decided to try that to see if it would be a way to save money in the long run. I reasoned I was spending about $100 per month with the spa specials on facials so if the Clarisonic worked I would pay for it quickly. I was not willing to give up my good skin so if it didn't work I planned to return it and stay with the facials.

I must say after only a month I realized the Clarisonic was fantastic for me. I truly feel that between using the Clarisonic daily with Purity cleanser, plus the Hope in a Jar, my skin is clear and bright, pores smaller and I feel as good as I did with the facials. I'm sure this wouldn't work for everyone, but it has been almost 5 years since I've had a facial and I feel like I don't miss it at all (except the pampering!!)

If you can afford the facial, of course, stay with what works for you. But, if you are looking for a way to cut expenses, maybe try the Clarisonic. I love it!

I would highly recommend the Clarisonic Mia; it has made a really noticeable improvement in my skin....if you prefer the luxury of someone else giving you a facial and can work it into your budget then by all means do that....you can get the Clarisonic Mia for about $100 now so it would definitely save you money in the long run over facials but it would also be good to use between trips to the spa.

I didn't have any issues at all right from the beginning so perhaps your skin is just too sensitive for the Clarisonic. I don't think I would keep trying it.

I've had a number of facials at the salon/spa my DD used to work at. They were an incredible experience. The only thing I didn't care for was when the aesthetician told me I had congested pores. She tried to do extractions and nothing came out. No wonder - they were sebaceous hyperplasia. DD switched salons so I don't go anymore. It's OK though, I have my SH under control now and because I'm now using oils in my skincare routine, every night when I massage my cleanser and treatment oils into my face I try to employ some of the techniques I recall and it's very reminiscent of the spa facial experience.

I do my own, usually on Sunday afternoons, but I have done them during the week while in a long, hot bath for stress reduction. I use an avocado mask, a volcano mud mask, a 100% Pure seaweed mask, those little packet you get at the store, mainly the detoxing ones, or from Sally's. I buy a few and alternate between them. Right now the avocado, volcano ( you mix it with apple cider vinegar and it gets hard, but pulls so much out) and the seaweed one. I did a facial kit for our family's Dirty Santa with those packets and little bits. You can do a lot for $20. I do my Clarisonic in the shower at night, so that counts in my book!
