o/t How Do You Know Your Ring Size?

I've always bought jewelry from shops so I just buy what fits my hand. However I've seen a few rings on QVC that interest me and was wondering how you can figure out your ring size without having to go to a jewelry store to be measured? TIA

You can download a chart like this one - http://images.zales.com/images/popups/zales_ringsizer.pdf, but I don't completely trust those. If you have a favorite jewelry store you could take a few rings in to them to check the sizes.

The paper sizers are fine, but for best accuracy get measured at a jewelry store. Also, the fine jewelry counters in department stores will have a sizer.

I heard that in adults, your ring size for your ring finger is pretty much the same as your shoe size. Now, I would never trust this, but my shoe size is 6.5, and my ring size is 7. Interesting.

Yeah, well that's not true for me. My ring size is a 5 and I wear a size 9 shoe. Haha

Not even close for me. My shoe size is 7.5 to 8. My right hand ring finger is a 4.75. My middle finger is 6.75.

My shoe size is 10, and my ring size is 4.5, and has been for decades. I'm 63.

My former ring size was always a 7 on my ring finger. Since RA, it has become an 8.

My former shoe size was a 7. Since four babies and aging, it is now an 8.

Never gave it a thought . . . but it's obviously true. How about that!!

Yes, the correlation to your ring and shoe size is fairly accurate. I were a 8.25 in ring size and a 8.5 in shoes. Whatada know?

The shoe size/ring size thing doesn't work for me with US sizes. It does however work for me with UK shoes and US rings. I'm a size 5 in UK shoes.

Jewelers have metal rod that they can slip the ring on, it has the sizes marked. I would take in several rings that fit you well on your middle finger and/or ring finger (you should know both of them) and have jeweler tell you what size they are. Remember, you will wear a larger size in a cigar-type band than a thin band or one that tapers in the back.

That's just urban legend that your shoe and ring size will be the same. I wear an 8 shoe and a 5.5 ring (well, more often a 6 ring now that I'm older). If someone's ring and shoe are the same size, that's just coincidence.
