LaRoche Posay Cleansing Oil Review

A few weeks back I purchased the LaRoche Posay Lipikar Gentle Foaming Cleansing OIl. I had been using Palmers but decided to try this. Well, after using it for a few weeks, I have some thoughts.

First, it does seem to cleanse well. Have no issues with that. However, at times my skin felt slightly irritated after using it but it wasn't every day just sometimes so thought it was something else in my routine that was causing the irritation or maybe my skin was having an off day? But no, it's something in the oil. Thought I'd finish up using it since the irritation was so slight and happened only occasionally. Then last night I accidentally got some in my eyes. Well, ladies it stung like crazy! Oh my word, it was bad. How they can say this is good "for babies to adults" is beyond me. I am done with this product. It's going in the trash. Going to get my Naturium cleansing balm out and try that.

@JudyL That cleanser does sting your eyes! I have a moisturizer/sunscreen from LaRoche that also stings.

Thanks for the review and heads up, @JudyL. I'll stick with my Palmers and/or Clean It Zero. No need to venture away sn e they work well for me,

@JeanLouiseFinch - I'll go back to using Palmer's once I'm done with the cleansing balms that I have. I like a cleansing balm if I travel so will always have one on hand for that.

I just cannot use cleansing oils or balms. Dries out my skin terribly.

That's me too @JudyL. I use the oil at home, balm for travel.

No oils for me, I still love a good foaming cleanser with quality ingredients. Right now using Consult Beaute Caviar Cleanser.

That's what I thought, too. But when you think about it, oils dissolve oils and that includes the natural oil in your skin. Also, whenever an oil product is applied to your skin then that can cause the skin's oil glands to stop producing oil. That combination could be the root cause of my dry skin, I'm pretty sure.

@JudyL I tried that oil awhile ago looking for a replacement for my BB Cleansing Oil. It was drying because of the foaming agents. I've since started using the Kiehl's Oil (lavender fragrance if that bothers you) and a gentle foaming cleanser afterwards...the Aveeno one.

@SilleeMee I have sometimes experienced dryness from oils that I leave on my skin, but cleansing oils are rinsed off.
