I found and purchased the Chanel shadow 5 pan Les Beiges palette in "light", but shades of purple and lavendar. There's also a larger "bar" of a light shade for highlight or brow bone or center of lid.

Yes, a splurge, but no more large palettes where I only use 2-3 shades.

@Shanus , I think I saw that one...its very pretty. I'd probably love the colors...but I passed because of price.

Think one looked a little pink, I love pink eyeshadow too.

@Desertdi Counting on you to come through. Lol. The top shade (long bar) is a bit off. It's more white instead of that pink.

@Shanus I bought this one last November with a gift card (I wouldn't have spent this much on my own) and I absolutely love it. The formula is perfection and even though the shadows look shimmery in the pans, they go on very subtle and satiny and almost blend themselves. This is my first high-end eyeshadow palette and the difference between it and my drugstore eyeshadows is night and day. Chanel really got it right. I use this palette whenever I go out with DH and it's a neutral for me. It goes with everything. This palette is called Tisse Camelia.

@Texasmouse I have that one and love it. I've started purchasing only small palettes. Yes, the Chanel and Dior ones are more expensive and only have 4 or 5 shades, but I find them so much easier than my ND palettes with many rows of colors I never use.

@Shanus yes, I've always shied away from large palettes because I know I'd only use a few of the shades, so it's a waste for me. The only exception is this Catrice matte palette that's been discontinued. Not exactly a large palette but this is my everyday palette and I use every single color in it! So sad it's no longer available. 😢 And it was only about $6!

I'm not a fan. It tends to look like a person has a black/bruised eye. That's just me.....not a put down to those that can get it right.

@Shanus ...please keep us posted if you see a sale..I'd love to have that one. I'll also keep my eye out.

I might go to Dillard's and see it in person. I can use one dark color, but others would have to be more pastel. Hard to tell online, but sure looks gorgeous.

I understand the difference in quality, I've had some shiseido shadows, and they go on like smooth velvet. I've never tried Chanel.

Long ago when I was a teenager my parents took my sister and myself to Ocean City. We walked the Boardwalk and I stopped into one of the stores and wandered over to the cosmetics. I wanted an eyeshadow and was looking around. The gentleman behind the counter picked one out for me. He said, "this is the one you want, the color is purple." I must have given him a funny look. He then said, "your eyes are green, THAT IS YOUR COLOR, it will bring out your eyes." I never forgot what he said and I now own lots of PURPLE AND USE IT DAILY.

@monicakm Bottom palette is Visart? That's still my favorite for travel especially for travel. I think I decluttered the top one, too. It had a lot of darker shades I never used...the row on the right all the way down.

@bonnielu Color Theory: used by fine artists and MUA is that colors opposite on the color wheel look best together. All the shades of purple are opposibe all the greens/golds.

Works well, right? Green eyes here, too.

MAC makes a nice shadow that is purply mauve called Skeech. I really like it. Just my two cents..

That is so pretty!

I recently bought a ColourPop palette in Lav-Ish and love it. Since I don't wear color shadows all that much these days, it was great to pick up some color shadows without spending a lot. The shades are gorgeous.

Love the colors---but not for me--am only wearing the neutrals--when I decide to wear any at all. Don't wear much make up anymore---
