My one beef with Sephora and Ulta.

Like I mentioned earlier I thoroughly research the beauty products I’m interested in. With Sephora I notice everything seems to have four star ratings never one star ratings unless you specifically use their ratings system and enter one star ratings seems to be for most of not all are very few compared with the volume they sell. Ulta offers coupons that are virtually useless as they eliminate all of the products I think most people would buy, after reading the exclusions it seems their coupons are only good for their in house products and the drugstore brands they carry.

I agree, the exclusions are ridiculous, and the same goes for DSW Shoes too !!!

I shop at ULTA and many times during the year I get 20% off offers that include all prestige brands. They are e-mailed to me. I am signed up with their rewards program but I am not a top tier member.

I think Ulta coupons are like that because the brands choose not to participate. Kohl’s coupons are the same way.

Yes I have their rewards program but if you put such severe limitations on the coupons it seems counterintuitive because I think most myself included would be willing to spend more. I’ve only received that coupon maybe once or twice a year. Not smart marketing.

I'm stuck between the two stores. Sephora seems to have more to offer in brands and variety in each brand and Ulta is always a mess, to put it mildly.

I like Ulta's point system compared to the "yuck" Gift Bazaar choices. I've never waited for Sephora's 15% off. Nordstrom and websites do better and when I need or want something...I purchase it.

I have my hair done at the Ulta near me (VERY NEAR as in over the hill)

So I obtain many reward points and always use them to purchase beauty products. This store is not often crowded (I don't go on weekends) and beautiful.

I never use those stupid coupons at all--get many from Macys and they never apply to anything I think I need

I got very good at reading the small print when I was in retail---most customers were annoyed with the outcome and some down right nasty--like I was the one who printed the stupid things--mostly my manager would honor them--well the good managers did --the cra**y ones refused and caused more fallout.
