Beekman Hype

Hi after watching many viewings of the Beekman boys and the wonders of goat milk I pulled the trigger and ordered a soap, I also bought a milk drop serum, bloom cream, and liquid primer with spf. Well the soap leaves a slick feeling on my skin and left it very dry. I need to add moisture to my skin and here it is in mid summer where the humidity usually helps with dryness. I will return to my Aveeno body wash which always left my skin so moisturized that I rarely needed to add additional moisture. The milk drop serum I have not noticed any difference compared to Estée Lauder serum. The bloom cream seems mediocre at best. The worst is the liquid primer with spf that leaves my skin itchy so I’m obviously having a reaction to that. I think the Beekman boys are very nice but the products are over hyped. Just to add I do not have overly sensitive skin. Any one else share these thoughts?

I tried their pure unscented lip balm several years ago. It got really stinky before I got halfway through it, so I trashed it. I tried the fig lip balm most recently, and it made my lips really dry and they peeled.

I love the Bloom cream and milk serum. I have never used the bar soap. I also use the tinted primer and have no complaints.

You might be having issues with the lactic acid in the goat milk.

All ,bath and body products are mostly hype, but i do love their bar soaps,i think they are the best soap bars,i have ever bought.

It's all ridiculous hype. I have dry skin and my Derm years ago said to cleanse face and body w baby shampoo - now I use a clean brand. I use argon oil - not JM -Burts Bees

watermelon face masks and other clean moisture products. Never buy Q beauty.. All hype and $$.

Every product sold involves hype. One needs to be a savvy shopper and overlook that hype and the sales tactics that go along with it. That being said, I only use Beekman soap. It is a very good product IMO and I have tried many other "luxury" soaps. I also like the body cream but Nakery is just as good. Not greasy and light scented. One thing to always remember is NO product is going to perform miracles on your skin,..It may give a tiny boost but that is all I ever expect.

I have one small container left from when they first began Beekman, it was wonderful. I bought some last year in the hope of replenishing. . . it is not the same. I'm back to L'Occitane.

I still have inventory to use up, but I haven't bought anything new from them in a very long time. I'm over them.

As is always the case, different strokes for different folks. My husband and I love their bar soaps and have used them for years. I also like their unscented hand lotion in the tube. Have not tried that many other Beekman items so can't speak to those.

As far as some other QVC products mentioned here, I am not a fan of Josie Maran or her line at all. Talk about hype bordering on untruths coming out of someone's mouth! I don't like gunk sitting on top of my skin and I don't like going around feeling like a total grease ball all day. But other people love her products. Again, we and our skin issues are all very different.

I bought the items because the goat milk was supposed to be exceptional for the skin. I do know that aveeno has colloidal oats and that is proven clinically to be extremely beneficial to the skin. It makes a difference when it comes to moisturizing and soothing the skin. The Beekman soap leaves a slick finish on the skin. I feel it also strips the skin of moisture on my skin. Like I said I don’t have sensitive skin. Go figure.

Milk is exceptional for the skin - with its lactic acid, which allows your skin to retain moisture and provides mild exfoliation.

If you are up to it, try Farmhouse Fresh goat milk soaps. I think they are superior. There is no slick finish, nor does it dry out your skin.

I love their bar soaps, especially the Oatmeal exfoliating one. very nice, hubby likes it a lot too.

My skin just doesn't like whatever ingredients are in their products!

Have not tried ALL OF THEM, but I remain unconvinced.

I wont buy their products since I much prefer plant based to animal based on my face and body, just my personal preferance.

I tried it all when they first came out but now the only thing I use is the wipes. I used to watch anyway but since the addition of the plastic yellow eyeglasses, I just can't watch.

I haven't used a lot from this line, but started with the lip balm, which did not impress me. The liquid soap did not smell like I thought the description would be, I didn't like it. The bar soap did not impress me either, and the bars are just way too huge to hold onto in the shower when wet.

I've always wondered exactly HOW MUCH goat milk is actually in their products. Their recent launch of the potato peel facial looked interesting, and I'm waiting to see some reviews.

The brothers seem very nice and wholesome, and I'm sure that's a lot of their appeal.

Edited to add: I do like the facial wipes, but I'm not sure if they are superior to any others I would find in the drugstore.

I'm not buying any more of their products. I tried a few items and was not impressed. There are so many products that are superior in my opinion.

I find their bar soaps ,leaves my skin ,very moisturizing.
