Hello my beauty mavens! I'm on the hunt for the perfect red lip! I'm open to any suggestions except anything that is too matte. Not a good on me. So what your best red lip? Inquiring beauty mavens want to know!💄

Estee Lauder has the best red lipsticks around, highly pigmented and hydrating, I've been using their brand for years. And they have a huge selection of red shades.

Also, use a lipliner before putting on your lipstick, draw the lip shape you want that day!

I am not lipstick person, but I do wear lip gloss. There are two Revlon redglosses I tried, but the one that I like most on me is called Fatal Apple.

Lip Gloss by Revlon, Super Lustrous The Gloss, Non-Sticky, High Shine Finish, Fatal Apple.

The other red Gloss I tried is called Dessert Spice

I really like Clinique's Chubby Stick for Lips in Robust Rouge. For my light/medium -olive tan skin tone it's perfect. It's a bluer red but not pink and it's not heavy but the color saturation is great!

@Thats Me I have a similar color complexion....it's a light/medium olive but with a cool undertone. Is yours cool or warm? I just might give this a try since it's a blue/red.

@haddon9 @I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure. I think my undertone may be more neutral. Q sells or sold it. I bought a set of 2 and it was either here or HSN. Sorry to be so unsure! But it's a great lip color and formula and also not screaming red.

@haddon9 @You're welcome of course! I may pick up another set myself for the price bc it's 2 for price of 1. I forgot to say that for me at least the color stays on pretty well, and they're not drying.

@Thats Me Yes I just noticed that! They are basically buy one get one free ....which I hope it doesn't mean that Chubby Stick Intense is being discontinued. It's been around for a long time.

I like Clinique Cherry Pop and MAC Ruby Woo.

I feel like someone is missing a huge marketing opportunity by not doing a red lipstick tie in with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.

Mac has a phenomenal range of lipstick shades and I have and love several of their reds that have a slight brown/berry base. I have Retro and Paramount in the Satin formula and Viva Glam I in the matte formula. They're great for fall and winter or evening, especially the Viva Glam I. LOVE Mac lipsticks. They're probably my favorite lipsticks.

To me, they're more of a statement than the Clinique Chubby Stick in the Robust Rouge. They're more heavily pigmented. Just my opinion, but the chubby stick is easier to wear during the day. So of course it depends on what you want.

@Franklinbell - My favorite red is Lipsense Fly Girl, created in collaboration with the flight attendants of Virgin America Airlines.

Lipsense is an unconventional company. It is sold by in home distributors, but you can get it on Amazon. I got involved when one of DD's college friends started selling it.

This product is different, but it stays on forever. It doesn't come off on anything, unless you have salad dressing for lunch! During the pandemic, when my mask was on and off (mostly for outdoor services) it didn't come off on my mask.

I wear it almost every day. I wear a combination of the color and a tinted gloss, and everyone thinks it's the perfect color for me!

Fly Girl is a bright cherry red. I'm warm complected and light in coloring.

I bought the MAC Ruby Woo and, while a beautiful, rich red, it looks dreadful on me.

I'm pretty sure the one I have is matte and it looks much darker in the tube than it seems to look on Taylor.

Tried it once and realized it looks bad on my medium olive skin.

It sits in a drawer unused...wish I could give it to you.

@Witchy Woman Have you tried it as a cream blush?

Some day before you are going to wash your face try this, lightly, as a blush.

Just tap a dot on your cheekbone & soften it out with your fingers.

You could also mix just a touch with another color of gloss to give your gloss a bit of color but not get that full on red.

Mac did a Stranger Things collaboration & they have a Lipglass called Rockin Robin.

It is a beautiful red!

I also love Wild Wheeler & they are on sale for $10 on the Mac site!

Thanks for the great suggestions.

Was so annoyed with myself for buying yet another lipstick that looked terrible on me, I just dumped it in the drawer.

In all honesty, it is more of a winter red to me than summer, but I'm going to dig it out and try the blush idea.

I am a light med olive tone complexion and I found THE best red to be Nars Jungle Red. THE PERFECT Red in my opinion - a must try for sure.
