DO YOU PUT YOUR MAKEUP ON STANDING OR SITTING IN A VANITY CHAIR?

I've always enjoyed relaxing and putting my make up sitting

in a chair.

I used to live in a home that had a special "vanity area" with great lighting before entering the bathroom. I got used to it.

It came back to me last year when I moved because I have much more space now in my his and her's bathroom.

Here's a picture of mine. How about you?

sitting in a swivel vanity chair, but i can do it standing up also.

i just find it more relaxing to be sitting down.

Sit. But o have a little bit of a different setup. When we built I extended the bathroom counter for my vanity. But I didn't lower the vanity part as you typically see because I am disabled and need to sit on a bar stool. So my vanity counter is same height as the rest of my counter. Was fortunate when we built the house my sister put this in my bathroom plan because it's something I didn't think about. I love going in there and turning on a podcast and just relax doing my makeup. I will usually be in there a hour and just take my time. It has a drawer to I can put all my makeup in on my vanity side. I will take a picture on a bit to show.

I have a vanity and stool in my bathroom to apply makeup sitting. Although the vanity has a triple mirror, I have my 10x lighted magnifying mirror as well.

Standing. My vanity is a cabinet style, so nowhere to put my legs if I were sitting and the mirror is too far away. I have small suction cup mirror stuck to the full-lenght mirror closet door next to my vanity and I have a lighted stand mirror I can pull out of the cabinet and put on a big book for close-up work. I really wish I had a way to look up to put eyeliner on though. Looking down into a mirror just doesn't work well for me.

Standing. After skin care I put on foundation, then walk away and do something for 5-10 minutes for it to set. Then return and start with eyes, liner, shadow (optional) followed with one coat of mascara. Walk away again for another 5-10 minutes. Brows and another coat of mascara. Lip liner and blush and again wait. Finally setting powder and lipstick.

Between these stops I'll make the bed, or clean up breakfast, or get dressed, or fix hair. I find myself doing most things in stages anymore.

All my makeup takes about 5 minutes or less. I stand.

But I can still see my 2 lovely aunts sitting at their dressers putting on their lipstick & rouge. I guess powder, too. But all I remember is the red.

I stand and only takes a few. I'm not a big make up user. I do use good lightening though.

I put my makeup on standing in front of my bathroom mirror. I need to be up close and I need a lot of light. I also need water. I'd never be able to use a vanity like that.

Standing. I want one of those bathroom makeup mirrors with the light all around the frame. They had one in a couple hotels we stayed at. I really like them except my pupils had weird square around them from the light?

When I first started using make up I stood as I didn't have any where to sit. I stood until DH and I bought our first home together just before the birth of our first child. In that house, the toliet was right next to the sink so I installed a vanity mirror to the wall that pulled out and I sat on the toliet and did my make up. In the house we live in now I have a vanity for make up and I sit on a teak stool.

I sit. I have a Hitchcock desk and chair that I bought in the early 70s that I use as a vanity. I had a classic vanity with a skirt and bench in my teens/early 20s. I use a makeup mirror.

I stand at the bathroom sink in front of a large mirror. I have a magnifying mirror I use too. I have a long countertop which has space for what I need and cabinet storage underneath. I need water, soap, and a towel for washing hands in between different product applications.

My house has small rooms so there's no space for a chair or separate vanity in my bathroom or bedroom. I wouldn't want one in my bedroom anyway.

Standing....I must be right near my sink. It's funny the different habits we all aquire. My makeup really doesn't take long at all. It's the hair that can take a lot of time & effort.

@Nightowlz I had that happen to me too. I was in a hotel and enjoying one of those beautiful lighted mirrors while putting makeup on.

After I finished I had a halo like glow in my field of vision for too long afterwards. It scared me to use it again. When we renovated the bathroom last year I decided not to get one of those mirrors when before I had been considering it.

I do sit while I blow dry my hair as that is just more comfortable for me. But I do my makeup standing in front of the bathroom mirror as it dosn't take me long.

I have a lower back problem, so I have to sit doing a LOT of things, including my makeup. I bought a little stool 13" high. I put my makeup on my vanity to the left and I sit right in front of the long mirror on the back of my bathroom door. Works for me!
