Who's had them? How long do they last? How often do you need to get a fill in? Do you have to take a break from them periodically?

I'd love to hear some first hand info on pros and cons as I'm thinking about taking the plunge.

TIA.

Happy New Year to you, too, haircut100!

Thanks for the tip about xtreme lashes. I will look into it.

My nail tech just got them. I am high maintenance but these sound like too much work. Can't use mascara or eyemakeup remover. Cannot rub your eyes. Also must sleep on your back and not on your side. That one I definitely can't do.

I cannot do extensions but am on a drive to find a primer or extender to use w/mascara. My results/findings so far (my lashes are long, but thinner):

Lancôme Cils primer-ok but no big deal, want more oomph.-returned

Ready to Wear-fahgedaboudit-the worst spider legs, caricature-returned

Next try will be :MUFE primer (when back in stock @Sephora) and Prescriptives primer for False Eyelashes (have to check the return policy. I did try this w/Chanel Le Volume mascara, kinda thick, clumpy, and may be going back to Nordies-going to give it 1 more wearing alone.

I thought the whole point of them (besides having beautiful, lush lashes) was low maintenance. That's kind of a bummer.

Hi vamp. I have the extreme eyelash extensions. I got them put on over a year ago for an affair with the intention of removing them in a month but fell in love with them. I always had to use primer and let it dry before applying 2 coats of mascara (drying time in between those two coats also) and then I would curl them with the shura umura eyelash curler that I heated with my blow dryer. Lots of work to archive the eyelash look I wanted. The extreme extensions look amazing with no effort. I use the dalton cake eyeliner with the skinny tight liner brush included to apply eyeliner because a pencil will pull on them. They are pricey and I get them filled in every two weeks . You can not rub your eyes or sleep with your eyes leaning on anything but that's not a problem for me. They are surely a time saver for me And look better than my own and are very glamorous. Some of my friends that have had them said when they removed them it took a few months to get their natural lashes back. Good luck with your decision!

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks, Gsmom. So, can you use eye makeup remover with them? That was my biggest concern from maestra's post (post# 6). I can live without rubbing my eyes or sleeping with anything rubbing against my eyes, and I would never wear mascara with extensions--it's not necessary from what I've seen. So my only concern is can I wear other eye MU and use remover to take it off? What do you use to remove your liner?

I know xtreme lashes are spendy and they need to be filled in to maintain them. How much (roughly) is the cost of a fill in vs. the cost to put them on new? Half the price?

Thanks so much--your first-hand knowledge is invaluable!

You can buy special extreme eye makeup remover (which I use) and extreme microfiber q tips (extensions stick to cotton swabs) to take off the eyeliner. They recommend theirs bc it's oil free I have used philosophy purity once in a while with no problems. You will never need mascara with these and in the summer during the day I never even use eyeliner. I would only go to someone who has lots of experience to put them on and for maintenance. The girl I go to (in NJ ) is booked 5 days a week 10-7. Sometimes the places who offer coupons are with tech. That aren't experienced. I think I paid $300-350 to get them put on and pay $70 every two weeks . Some people can go three weeks in between fills but I like them to look full and beautiful all the time. I wish they were cheaper and some of the Asian salons in my are offer fills for $50 but they don't use the extreme.
