Would there be a problem with mixing the Alpha body lotion with Amylactin lotion? Would it diminish the actives in it?

It's okay to mix those two AHA lotions together. They both have similar acidity meaning each one won't do anything to the other.

I mix my Alpha body lotion with my lactic acid lotion all of the time. That way I'm getting the benefits from both kinds of AHAs.

When it comes to mixing products together, the major concern would be the acidity (the pH) of the products at hand. I keep a small roll of litmus paper just to check some of my products and also to check for oxidation where there is a noticeable rise in pH.

Hydrion S/r Dispenser 0.0-6.0 Ph Range 96 - 15 Ft Roll w/ Color Chart/ Dispenser (Amazon $10)

That roll contains 1/4-inch wide litmus paper. Just pull out about an inch, don't touch the part where you'll be testing and then place a small amount of product directly onto the strip. Color change indicates the pH which you compare with the chart given on the label.
