I Wish Cosmetics Companies Were More Transparent…

I don't buy makeup (or skincare) made in China. (China is notorious for human rights abuses and I also don't trust the "quality control"). Unfortunately, that information is often not disclosed when purchasing online.

I just received a "Winky Lux" lip gloss ($17) and in very fine print on the bottom of the tube was "Made in China".

I know a lot of ladies don't have an issue with this, but consumers should be able to choose and make informed decisions.

Between going with cruelty-free products and avoiding China, beauty purchases can be a bit of a challenge.

@Swedishmiss The country of origin is the least of my complaints about cosmetic transparency. I really don't care where it's made.

I just wish they'd be more honest about what the product will or will not do. The before and after photos are a joke. Imperceptible differences.

I suppose if they were honest, nobody would buy the stuff because most of it does little, if anything.

I will not purchase or wear any cosmetics from China

I will not buy online unless I know where the product is made.

Most, if not nearly all, of our drugs and medications are made either in China or India. That's what would be most concerning to me, not cosmetics.

I agree, it is very concerning (and outrageous IMO) that China is in control of our drug supply. Unfortunately, we don't have the choice when purchasing many medications.

I DO have a choice where I purchase things like cosmetics and my skin care. Communist China continues to commit atrocities against its own people. And, additionally, quality coming out of China is often lacking.

The problem with cosmetics 'made in the USA' is that many of them contain ingredients which come from over there. It's a global economy and there's no way around it.

Search: Made in USA....all the cosmetics - skin care products I use are made here, easy to find & lots of choices.

@SilleeMee What are your thoughts about the possibility of the drugs from ADC being either tampered or compromised? I haven't had a problem with the tret I have ordered and used, but as far as the drugs I have ordered from them, I have them for back up. I haven't used them.

We are at their mercy if we need a RX and it comes from somewhere other than the good old USA, which is often the case.

I've never had any issues with ADC. The tret and Careprost are the only products I've purchased from them. Those have always come sealed so I feel confident in using them w/o question.
