If you are unorganized but feel you need to reduce your cosmetic/skin care stash, I've got a method for you. Get up right now, go into the bathroom, look around and throw out ten things. Any ten things. Then STOP and go back to what you were doing. Ten things shouldn't cause too much anxiety. I've been doing this every once in awhile and the medicine cabinet, linen closet, and drawers are going down. Remember that recent thread on MRSA? It made me realize there is no way I can donate anything that has been opened. I think that was always my excuse before. "Gee, I can donate this, so I can't throw it out even if I haven't used it in five years." The shower gel with an inch of product? Gone. The Bobbi Brown salmon and orange lipsticks I bought on a disastrous whim? Gone. Lipstick has been the easiest. There is no way I will ever be able to wear certain shades, what am I keeping them for? Remember, ten things only or you may end up digging the whole mess out of the trash.
