SKINN DermAppeal Questions

Hello Beauty Mavens,

I just started using the famous DermAppeal from HSN's SKINN line and I find it just as fabulous as all the reviews state. But, I have 2 questions:
1. The product doesn't really turn milky white after I add water to it, the way it does when Dimitri James demonstrated it on his hand. I tried both changing the water temperature and the amount of water, but it doesn't seem to change into a white lathering cleanser.
2. There's small blue beads in the scrub that stay on my face after I apply water and then I rinse them off. Is this normal or am I rinsing too quickly. Do those blue beads dissolve?

Thanks to all the SKINN fans who can help me. I really love the product. It takes off all my dry, old skin and leaves a lovely moisturizing feel when I rinse it off.

Like many of his products, they never worked for me. I tried the products and as you said it left the beads on my skin. I don't like that and don't think anything should be left behind. I had to rinse and rinse and rinse and wipe off with a washcloth to get a clean finish.

Oh thank you; glad to hear I'm not the only one who has rinsing issues with this! 🩷
The container says use a quarter-size, but I'm switching to a dime-size dollop. Overall, I really, really love the product...I just hope I'm using it correctly!

@MarnieRez3 - I like his DermaPeel - the weekly one not the daily one. I use mine in the shower so can't comment on the lather issue as I can't see what's happening. LOL I will say though, that I had a hard time getting it rinsed if I used it at the bathroom sink - took a long time and was messy with water all over. To get it rinsed well and not have any beads on my face, I need to rinse in the shower. So now I just keep it in the shower and use it about twice a week. Also if you have a hard time rinsing, you may want try less product the next time you use it. I just squeeze a bit out of the tube, can't really say how much as I just go by the "this looks like enough" thought. Hope this helps.

Lol...YES! I think you found the solution, my friend. I will use it in the shower.
(When I try to use it over my sink at night, the water runs down my arms and saturates my Cuddle Duds pajama top!)

@MarnieRez3 - oh don't you hate that when the water runs down your arm and your pj's get wet! Drives me nuts. Yes for the shower, rinses it well and no wet pjs!

Mine doesn't turn milky white and the blue beads do not dissolve. Maybe it's the amount Dimitri uses? I try to get every penny out of my products and use only what is absolutely necessary. I don't believe the beads are suppose to dissolve. I haven't had an issue with rinsing. I push my pajama sleeves up and place a hand towel at the sink, just in case. Have you tried leaving it on your face for a few minutes? Tina, Dimitri's sister, recommends leaving it on your face for a few minutes. I tried her recommendation and put it on my face before getting into the bath tub. My face was super soft and glowy. I love Dimitri's DermAppeal!

What are the beads made of? I hope not plastic. We do not need any more of these tiny plastic particles in our waters. Sure hope they disolve down the drain! I am still using up my samples of Lancer so I have not tried SKINN yet.

I'm probably not describing them correctly. They're not plastic beads, more like crystalline particles.

Yes! Love leaving it on my face for a few minutes...it stings a tad, but then my face feels so smooth. There's also a lovely moisturizing quality after you rinse it off...I have used Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and the Tatcha rice powder exfoliant, but they both left my skin so tight and dry. DermAppeal does not! I love that!

Yes, I understand, as it really is too harsh for my daughter, who is in her 20s. I think Dimitri said to start with once a week application.
FYI, Lancer has a new Polish for sensitive skin and my daughter loves that.

I Found the Derm Appeal left a filmy feeling on my skin. Remember it has baking soda as one of its key ingredients. Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

I have yet to find a way to use the sink for face cleansing, esp rinsing, that doesnt get it all over the place! arms, neck, hair, around the sink, faucets, incl the floor. No revealed secret to counter my sloppiness yet. heh

When I used DermaPeel I had trouble too getting it all off my skin. I liked it though.

Now I use pureSCRUBS body/face scrub, that I get on Amazon, it is a small business.

Just love the scrubs ( exfoliator ) and there is no strong scent and it is so easy to wash of the skin, beautiful scents too. I get the brown sugar one, and there are other types too.

@CherryHugs - I went and looked at the pureSCRUBS items on Amazon. Are all of the Brown Sugar line scrubs for the face? It's hard to tell if some are for face only or body only. The only one listed that included face in the title was the coconut option. I've put it on my wish list to try once I'm done with my tubs of Dermapeel. Thanks for posting about these.
