Spray moisturizing oil for body

I saw a couple of these in my local drugstore recently.

I was wondering if anyone uses these instead of body creams or lotions?

I thought maybe they would be easy and quick, which I am all about.

However, I am concerned about a couple things.

First, since they are oil sprays, don't they make a mess in the bathroom - floor, walls, etc.??? I don't need any more things to clean. And since it's oil, I would think it would be tough to remove.

Second, would the oil sprays be as effective as a lotion or cream?

And if you have tried them, what brand have you used?

I feel the same way about the oil. We are very rural and have a septic system so are very careful with oils.

You spray into your hand,then rub into skin.

@AngelPuppy1. I have used spray oils in the past and liked the results on my skin but spraying can be messy. Really like Nivea Essentially Enriched with almond oil lotion in the pump, very reasonably priced and haven't found anything better.

I personally have found them to be messy. If you miss your hand or where you are spraying, it is on the floor or vanity top. Spraying it into your hand is your best bet to less mess, but they always push how you can spray areas that you can't reach with your hands, like your back or the back of your legs. Good luck with that.

I think the spray lotions tend to have less overspray and mess, but you have to watch what you are doing. Kores body lotion is one I like. I am going to look into the Nivea one.

I love the one from Trader Joe's. Has a fresh citrus scent. I apply with my hand and have never over sprayed. Would never just spray. Can't imagine the mess and slick floor!

I hated it. My hands were greasy all day no matter how many times I washed them. I also had an aura of the smell around me all day and it wasn't pleasant. That evening my husband and I went for a walk outside and he said "what's that weird smell."

LOL, obviously not a fan!

I actually put my Neutrogena Body Oil in a sprayer that I got on Amazon. Kind of like a olive oil sprayer, plastic and white colored. I leave it in my shower and mist while still damp from the shower. It is targeted, so the shower doesn't get oiled up. Works great.

I have several that I LOVE--mostly from Korres. I love the scents -- it goes on and rubs in smoothly and without the greasiness. Also I use L'occitane spray oil--- fantastic ----I used it after my chemo treatments, at night and it was like a warm hug after a grueling period in my life. You can spray it on your hands to rub in, or right on the body--no mess and it doesn't spray everywhere unless you don't aim.-- then when it dries down I use a body cream over top--I use it especially on my legs and it washes off in the shower.

@AngelPuppy1 Philosophy has a set of two oil sprays which Mary presented this morning. She kept spraying it on her arm and said how it just absorbed and left no residue. I think I might try it as I like something light and quick in the summertime.

I've used the Vaseline Intensive Care spray moisturizer cocoa radiant in the brown can for years. Always spray it in my hands and then rub it on my body. Never had a problem with scent or overspray.

I would love to suggest you try the Firming Body Butter Spray from Korres, it comes out like a very light liquid lotion, it is made from shea butter and not an oil. I love it!!!

I only use my Active Argan Body Oil spray at certain times.

I used to use this lotion and liked it a lot. I have so many different kinds of body butters and lotions on auto delivery I can't justify buying any more. I will have to put it back on my radar though.

I love body oils, they absorb quickly into my skin and the sprayer never gives me an issue. I use several different kinds and no mater what kind of lotion or oil I use on my hands it never seems to be enough. They absorb so quickly I am always surprised.

I had gotten a body oil from Korres at some point as part of a kit. I love my Skinn face oil but had never used a body oil. I tried it a few times this past winter, applying to damp skin after my shower. I felt kinda " meh" about it and ended up pitching it the other day.

I love using a body oil in winter underneath my lotion or body butter. I use Palmers Moisturizing Body Oil and I put it in an old Samy (for hair) sprayer I had saved. I guess it was meant for thicker liquids, so I never have a problem with it not working correctly. I'm too wet in the shower and oils and lotions won't absorb, so I need to get out and do a slight pat-down with a towel. Besides, my shower is so small. I've never had a problem with it overspraying or getting oil all over stuff. I do have a rug in front of my vanity and itcan be washed, but I haven't noticed it getting oily or anything. I mostly only use it on my legs and arms though, so I'm not trying to spray hard to reach areas.

Nakery makes a solid body oil that's okay and Palmer's also has a solid oil in a big tub. For the price, I would go with Palmer's and I love the smell.
