SPF for face

I am looking for an spf of at least 30 for face. It has to work well under liquid foundation. I also would like something that does not make my face "glow" or "shine." I have normal skin. Any suggestions? Thank you

I watch a channel on YouTube called Angela Masson-Fashion Over 50.

She just put out a video on the five things she won't live without and mentioned a SPF 46 for the face that works well with her BB cream.

It's called EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46. She links to it on Amazon.

Since she lives in Florida part time, I figure she knows what she talking about. Maybe that would work for you.

Nothing fancy, I use Coppertone Sport 50. Works perfectly under foundation. I dont buy expensive sun screen.

This one!! It's an Asian sunscreen and it's fantastic under makeup. Check out the reivews over on Amazon. I love this one. $16 for 3.5-oz.

I know EltaMd always gets fantastic reviews. I haven't tried this particular one but used a tinted spf from the line once, years ago. I liked it and don't know why I stopped using it.

I've been curious to try First Aid Beauty's Mineral SPF30 block. I really like that it uses zinc oxide. It gets great reviews too.

Angie of Hot & Flashy just posted her yearly sunscreen review on YouTube. I think you would find it most informative and would be able to find a sunscreen you would like.

Tried many. I always go back to Austrailian Gold Tinted Mineral Sunscreen. 50 SPF. Plays well with foundation.

I prefer minerals to chemical sunscreen.

@Thats Me I used to use that on my ski trips, but they changed the formula and I didn't like it as well. Also saw a lot of complaints about the new formula.

I like Josie Maran's SPF 45 Body Butter. Can be used on the face and around eyes without any sting or tearing whatsoever. It plays well with my makeup routine.

MdSolarSciences tinted mineral creme and also Dr Denese tinted daycream. I think I love MdSolar more though. It's kinda mousse-ie and gives a slightly tinted/primer type look. Not shiney at all just a primer type blurring effect. Love it and have used it in place of foundation for going on 10 years now. Sometimes Costco has it for a BOGO type deal and when they do I stock up big time.

@Icegoddess @Maybe that's what I stopped but just don't remember.

I was in Florida recently and used Peter Thomas Roth's brush on spf 45 (not sure it's still made but there are probably similar products out there). At the time I bought it because it's completely matte, transports well, and I've never liked the feel of spf products on my face. They always feel too heavy and my skin is crazy sensitive.

I brought that so that it could go in my carry-on since I wasn't checking a bag. I know we're always skeptical of the effectiveness of loose powder spf's and I understand why - it's hard to know if you're applying enough. And you're probably breathing in the powder, not good.

I didn't burn but did get a very light tan which I wasn't trying to do. Then, I've always picked up the sun with no effort. A couple days after I got home I noticed my skin peeling! Couldn't believe it. Lesson learned - I think that powder product is great to have for spur of the moment times, but if I'm planning to be outside or at the beach I'll use something more heavy duty, from now on.

The ski trip I recently went on I used Neutrogena Mineral roll-on (looks like a deodorant stick). I only need it on the bottom part of my face. I'll probably use it when doing yard work too although I usually use the Sport Face. I can't vouch how any of the wear under makeup though.

@SilleeMee This product is of interest to me, but not sure the 'gel' consistency is something I like. I tried a gel moisturizer from Elf brand and I don't love it. I see that Skin Aqua has a moisturizer as well, have you used both the gel and the moisturizer?

I am guessing it is really just a preference.

I have not used the moisturizer. But the gel is very nice going on. Dries fast and you don't even feel it on the skin. Just leaves it feeling hydrated w/o any sticky/tacky feeling.

@SilleeMee Thank you! I will give it (gel) a try - I guess since I am layering with foundation, etc, the gel might be a better option...and maybe for the body as well. Sometimes my skin feels a bit tacky especially in the summer after applying a lotion.

@Janey2 I've been using the DRMTLGY Tinted SPF 46. I also have they also make a physical one that's SPF 44 and a clear SPF 45 broad spectrum. They all do well under foundation. The tinted one is enough color for me and has moisturizer, too.

Color Science finishing powder. With my oily skin, I didn't want, or need, another layer of lotion or cream on my face.
I can reapply the lightweight powder as often as I want to refresh my SPF protection. Works for me!

@SilleeMee , @Mom2Dogs I have this also...idk why they call it a Gel...its a THIN white creamy lotion, that's goes on easily and disappears on the skin. It is moisturizering as well. I use on my face/chest, arm and hands. Its non-greas

I also use Shiseido cream spf for my face on days I'm going out. Will probably just use this Japanese one once I'm finished with Shiseido. Will see how it goes.

I love Supergoop Unseen spf 40. It acts like a primer for me. I've tried so many ss and this works great for me. No shine or sticky feeling.

Currently I've been using for about 2 years the Elizabeth Arden Prevage spf's. One is no color SPF 50 and would make normal skin greasy but my dry skin drinks it up. I also keep on hand at work and home the EA tinted city shield spf 30 .
BUT I'm willing to try something different. Is there somewhere else that I can look for that product at besides Amazon?
And here's another question: I always put spf on in the AM under makeup even though I'm out the door between 5 & 8 am weekdays. I put on again before leaving work and going outside. Is using the Prevage a wasted step in the morning except for hydration? Ty
