Wen -- Wenderful Comb!!!!!

Just in case there was any confusion about it, let me just say...

THE WEN COMB IS AMAZING!!!!!!

AMAZING!!!!!! REALLY AMAZING!!!!!!

THE WEN COMB IS REALLY, REALLY AMAZING!!!!!!

Clearly this is no ordinary comb. It must have been put together by those Star Wars light saber people. Or brought in from Krypton. Maybe Chaz had David Copperfield magically create it. Or those Lucky Charms elves had something to do with it. Or maybe it was those Keebler elves...

In any case, it kicks the stuffing out of any other comb I have ever used. And leaves me wondering why the heck it took me such a long time to order it ($13.50 with free shipping during Chaz's blackfriday sale).

I have thin/fine hair so I'm really fussy about my combs. I've tried the expensive british Kent combs and the Swissco combs, but I wasn't happy with the results. Ironically, I've had the best luck with two Goody wide tooth combs that I've probably had for 30-40 years. Maybe the rough edges of these two combs had gotten worn down over the decades and so they were less harmful to my hair.

In any case, my old combs are history now and my hair only has eyes for my Wen comb. Hasta la vista, Goody. Take a long walk off a short Alp, Swissco. *Kent comb takes a header off of a London Bridge... since The London Bridge is in Arizona*

Here's why I like the Wen comb so much...

* When I comb my hair after washing it, there's much less breakage (down by 50%)

* The comb is saw cut instead of molded. This means that there isn't a mold line down the inside center of the comb which would rough up the hair cuticles and weaken the individual strands of hair.

* The comb glides effortlessly through wet and dry hair. It feels great against my scalp. The comb's teeth are tapered for comfort.

* One side of the comb has wider teeth and the other side has narrower teeth. The spacing on the wide side is perfect to minimize breakage. The spacing on the narrower side is perfect to provide maximum hair definition while minimizing breakage.

* From an aesthetic perspective, the comb itself is beautifully designed so it's not an eyesore in the bathroom.

To make sure you have a real Wen comb I would recommend that you only buy a Wen comb from QVC or Chaz's salon. A number of people who have bought their "Wen" combs from ebay or amazon haven't been happy with their purchases and some think they may have been sold fake Wen combs.

Chaz's Wen comb is a really, really good thing!!!!!

-- bebe

I know! When I use the Wen comb, there is little to no hair in the comb when I finish. It is remarkable. Just don't drop it on a harwood or marble floor it can shatter. I tried to replace it with a comb from Amazon. It was a cheap imitation and it scratched by scalp. Order only from QVC or Chaz' website.

I don't mean to highjack your thread, but has anyone tried the Wen Paddle Brush?

It's available on his website, but there's no description or explanation of how it's different from the paddle brush I already have. I hear everyone raving about the comb, so I wonder if the paddle brush is just as special.

Lately, after adding my 1 pump of CC and my SC to soaking wet hair, I've been using my paddle brush to make sure the products are distributed throughout all my hair evenly.

Ok, now I'm answering my own question because I'm thinking the paddle brush is NOT a Wen brush but some other brand (Spornette) of brush that Chaz is selling on his site? Ok, that's weird.

According to Wen Dooters (per silveer), this saturday there's going to be a special offer on an 8 oz. size of the remoist along with a prized Wen comb. So not only will you be getting the super-sized remoist but you'll get to snag a real Wen comb as well (instead of one of the many fakes sold on Amazon and eBay).

I purchased the Wen comb a few months ago and it has exceeded my expectations. I mean I thought Chaz was great and all... but what was a Wen comb really going to do. Well, it turns out, a whole lotta stuff. I posted most of this before, but it bears repeating...

Here's why I like the Wen comb so much...

* When I comb my hair after washing it, there's much less breakage (down by 50%)

* The comb is saw cut instead of molded. Using Wen has helped tame my hair a lot, but there's only so much that it can do. Since using the Wen comb for the past three months, I've noticed that my new hair growth is less frizzy. The hair that's only had the Wen comb running through it is less damaged which is resulting in happier healthier hair!!

-- bebe

--

silveer's original post from another thread:

"Here is Wen Dooters post (also mentions a possible OTO) :

"So here's mostly what I could catch from today's ride... Spring Orange Blossom everything! 3 pc Kit, 4 oz Oils (I'm using those) and 6 oz Replenishing Treatment Mist. 8 oz Remoist Hot Pick that's crazy price and on 2 easy pays (whatever that means). Cleansing Conditioner on air but it's already selling so that's not new. I know there's a OTO thing but I'm not putting the cart before Bob and Clancy (those are the big horses that pull the cart where I live). I love to personalize these stories and amuse myself. I really do crack myself up sometimes. Inside joke I'm sure. Bob and Clancey are howling."

I have to agree, I wish he had more TSVs that included a comb. I keep one in the shower and have others throughout the house but WHERE? Those same magic Wen elves who make them it also must steal and hide them! It is really the perfect size for Wen. I got one a couple years ago at Sephora for about three bucks that had really wide teeth, but they don't sell them anymore and it wasn't as nice anyway. That one I can always find.

I have a wen comb from ~5 years ago that I love and I keep it in the shower. I was so excited to get a 2nd wen comb in a kids set I ordered a few months ago from QVC. However, the comb that came in the kids set is not anywhere near the quality of the original comb I got years ago. The plastic is different, it looks shinier and feels about half the weight of the original comb I got. Do you think I got a fake comb(which would be odd since it came from QVC) Or did wen change the combs?

I was so excited to get a 2nd wen comb in a kids set I ordered a few months ago from QVC. However, the comb that came in the kids set is not anywhere near the quality of the original comb I got years ago. The plastic is different, it looks shinier and feels about half the weight of the original comb I got. Do you think I got a fake comb(which would be odd since it came from QVC) Or did wen change the combs?

I also have a wen comb from his website and just recently received the comb combo with the remoist and there is definitely a huge difference in the comb just like you said. It is smaller, thinner and shinier and does not seem to be same quality as what I got thru his website. I just look at it as an added bonus with the remoist but it went in my purse just in case something happens to the good one.

I don't know if the information on that discussion is still up, but I think some said that one had rounded teeth and the other one was heavier and the teeth were different. This is my first time with it and I really like the one that came with the remoist. It's not only pretty, but it's gentle on my hair and scalp, which is a must for me. I now plan on getting two more. I read another post that there will be a really good sale on Chaz site in a couple of months, although I'm not sure if I want to wait so long.

OK, I had to add my two cents. WHO KNEW!! I used my comb (that came with the re-moist), it worked great. I'm AA and to be honest, I'm very slow to use combs I see non-AA using. Then, this thread was started and people were going , gaga about the comb. I thought "whatever! It's just a comb. It probably won't work on my hair anyway (the models are paid pretenders- everyone knows that)"

OK, I WAS WRONG! I never knew a comb actually felt different, good even.

I know there's a discussion about new comb vs. old comb. I can't speak to that. But, as for this one... I actually felt a difference. "I like it! I like it!(ala Mikey)"

I just pulled my comb out of the remost set that was just delivered. A much cheaper version of the comb. I will buy more from Chaz's website if this is the version the Q will be selling.

As stated above, it's a bonus, it's not the good quality one I already have, but it's "good enough" for the gym ;o)

I purchased my first Wen comb last December (now I have three!) and it has exceeded my expectations. I mean I thought Chaz was great and all... but what was a Wen comb really going to do. Well, it turns out, a whole lotta stuff. Here are my lastest results from using my Wen comb...

I have really thin/fine/porous frizzy hair. I clearly didn't win the genetic hair lottery, but using Wen has made my hair much healthier. Using Wen has helped tame my hair a lot, but there's only so much that it can do.

Since I've been using the Wen comb for the past six months, I've noticed that my new hair growth is less frizzy. At this point I can really see the difference between my pre-Wen comb hair and my Wen comb hair (which is the last 6-8 inches of hair growing out of my scalp). The hair that's only had the Wen comb running through it is less damaged which is resulting in happier healthier hair!!

Below are the other reasons why I like the Wen comb so much...

-- bebe

I totally agree with you, bebe. I also have three combs - one in the shower, one by the sink and one in my bedroom. Years ago I bought a small wide tooth hand carved bamboo comb from a local artist that I keep in my purse. I'm glad Chaz has shared his tools with us, they make such a difference.
