We're getting ready to switch over to warmer weather skincare (maybe) and maybe lighter or brighter or softer makeup for spring. If you have any redness in your skin, blush across the nose will accentuate that...bronzer which is warmer and less red will give that same sun-kissed look w/o a reddish nose.

Also the shape of the face and nose makes a difference. Just because it's a "look", doesn't mean it's a good one for you. I have a short nose and a smaller round face. This doesn't leave much real estate for color products. I need to be strategic where blush and bronzer are placed or my entire face has too much color.

Puzzlement to me: People work so hard to eliminate redness in their skin, then wear blush.

Don't expect an answer--just thought I'd toss that out. . .

SPF: I've found that ones marked "for babies" stay on well when swimming, etc. I think they assume catching the child to put it all over a second time would be difficult. Also. many spfs are listed waterproof, but still need to be applied from time toi time.

Hair: Conditioner spread and combed through the hair keeps some water damage away, but a swim cap is best.

In fact it is the only moisturizer I have used winter, summer, fall and spring.

About 2 years ago I received notification that it was no longer being made.

I am looking for a similar product. I have bought many other products but I always went back to Ethocyn. Now my stock pile is running low and I have to make a change.

Any suggestions?

@drizzellla Sorry that your beloved cream has been discontinued and no longer in production. I seems the company has closed its doors. I think the downfall is that the market is flooded with creams promising to tighten, return your skin to that of a 20 year old by salvaging the elastin in your skin. I'm fairly sure that no creams can do that. It may make your skin feel smoother, but the tightening effects were obviously "iffy" and Ethocyn could no longer compete.

The main ingredient that I think you enjoyed was Squalane. You could try to find that in another moisturizer. There is a The Ordinary Serum with 100% plant derived Squalane. You may want to look into that and add it as a step in your newer routine with a diffferent moisturizer.

If you'd prefer a moisturizer w/ Squalane, the search is on. I'm not sure Ethocyne stated the percentage of its ingredients.

My suggestion is The Ordinary Serum and/or Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream with Squalane. It's $24 for a small size you can try. This is my "go to" cold weather moisturizer. It has 4.5% Squalane, which isn't much, but at least is up front about its ingredients. It is supposed to support the skin's barrier. I do know it's a good moisturizer with a lot of hydration.

Tightening? I again caution you not to believe that creams can do that for your skin. The use of a good daily skincare routine, using high quality (not always high priced) products may give the appearance of smoothness/plumping. That's all you can expect.

The placement of concealer is the key. The hollow areas and/or bags should be concealed with one not too much brighter than your foundation.

Place your concealer (corrector may be needed if very dark) just on the dark hollow areas and blend well. Don't try to cover the entire undereye area. The bags are usually associated and caused by the hollow areas. If too light a concealer is used, it will cause the bags to be more obvious. Dot the concealer w/ a small brush for more control just on the hollow to bring that area forward. BTW, do you sleep on that ride side?

I also suggest sleeping on your back w/ head raised . I'm practicing that and it isn't easy. Also limit salt. It just may be due to allergies or heredity causing these issues.

Please address it @Shanus so that I get a notification.

OK. No foundations, powders or liquid, can have enough SPF to protect you. You need 1/4 tsp. of sunscreen with at least 40-45 on face, ears, neck and chest if wearing a v neck, etc. I doubt if you'd apply that much foundation on those areas. I would not put a foundation on neck and chest anyway since it'd get on my clothing.

To be safe, you need a separate sunscreen, let it dry down about 5 minutes and then apply a foundation of choice.

Im sure they've helped many, myself included. I'm currently interested in buying an at home facial toning device and thinking of giving NuFace a try. Would like your thoughts, and my apologies if this has already been asked and answered. Thank you!

These devices are only worth the money if you intend to use them regularly. Many purchase them and then start to slack off....kinda like that treadmill that's now great for hanging your robe on. Lol
