I have been getting eyelash extensions (Amazing Lash) for a few years without any issues. I loved getting them, also the appointment is very relaxing.

However the last year or so, after I get extensions, wake up the next day and under my bottom eyelid - its puffy and pink and itches.

I have been taking Alegra - twice a day. Doesnt do much to help it. This has been happening for several times after getting refills.

Help!!! What are my options?? I am hanging on by a thread - not wanting to give up what I love - my eyes are so small - I need extensions (mascara doesnt work well).

But I can't keep getting these infections - they take days to go away.

Any solutions ?????????????? I am very upset

I no longer get them for similar reasons. I spoke to my technician and she swore nothing had changed but since I had been getting them for 8 months without issue I think that something had indeed changed, maybe something she was unaware of, the supplier may have made the change or whoever ordered the supplies may have changed the glue.....I would start by asking them if something has changed, to me it is obvious that it has.

Sounds like an allergy, not infection. I know with hair color, you can develop an allergy at any time, even after years of coloring, without anything changing. Same for poison ivy for those of us not sensitive to it. I had my first reaction to it this past summer even though I've never been sensitive to it previously. So, maybe you just developed an intolerance to one of the ingredients.

I'd see an ophthalmologist or optometrist and see what they think. Maybe a different salon or eyelash extension technician or brand would be better. I hope you get it figured out so you don't have to give it up.

This sounds like an allergic reaction. I did extensions for my wedding and nothing for 14 years. Got extensions two years ago was ok for the application, after the fill, I noticed my nose running. As the days went on, my eyes started itching and swelling. I finally realized I was allergic. The more exposures, the worse the reaction can become. My guess is that you are allergic to the glue. Sometimes you get more exposure to the glue than others and hence the reaction. I would discontinue the extensions.

I have 2 suggestions for you....lash lift and tint. This is what I do now and lasts about 6 or 7 weeks. I find that my lashes are growing more since I started using a serum and lash conditioner. The other option is to use magnetic lashes. I did this for awhile and really liked them. There are some really great brands out there with very easy to use magnetic liner and tons of options for lengths/looks. Go for a style that has many small magnets...I have small eyes and have to trim the lashes, more magnets means a more secure fit. I like OpulenceMDbeauty.

I don't think you need to consult with anybody, your eyes are telling you that you are allergic to what is being done. I have my hair colored every five weeks, months will go by and I will have no reaction whatsoever and then suddenly my scalp is itchy on that Salon visit. This is an allergic reaction that you are having. Do you have any reaction to any eye make up?

Go to somebody else who does eyelash extensions and see if you have the same problem. This is not rocket science, your skin is having a reaction to those extensions.
