False lashes… have you ever worn them?

Hello beauties!

I'm just curious. I was watching the beauty show and they are showing false lashes. I' have wanted to try them but I know it will be a mess! I am one of the few people that lash serums don't help. Oh well! I'm just gonna stick with mascara. Have you ladies tried lashes? Just curious!

Yes. Just this past Thursday, I attended a banquet and wore them. I'll wear them every now and then. You should try Kim's self adhesive ones @Franklinbell. You won't have to deal with the glue. I just ordered some.

No, I am scared of the glue situation. Plus, if they are too heavy, I think it would drive me crazy when I blink.

Sounds good with the self adhesive, but I still don't think this is a good beauty fix for me.

The glue is harmless @jpie . Just wait until it's tacky before applying the lashes. You can't even tell you're wearing them.

If you try them, start with the ones with only a few hairs and place them at the end of the eye. Really helps. Drugstore ones work fine. I've been told that full lashes without the heavy black strip are easy and comfortable. Hardly wear them anymore but they are fun!!!

I have always wanted to try but I don't think I could get them on, I don't have a steady hand and I even have a hard time putting liner on because my hands will shake. I will say the ones on tonight Belle Beauty by Kim Gravel look really nice.

@Franklinbell - I use mascara most days; FL for occasions. Just ordered Kim's new Wisp lashes.

They look less dramatic (fake) than the usual and they are self adhesive. Kim's FL are highly rated and always sell out. Only $23 for 3 sets & can be reused 3-4x.

I wore a couple of times over the holidays. My dil put them on for me. The ones Kim has look easy enough that I ordered the wispy to do myself.

I have tried the kind that use a magnetic eyeliner that the lashes magnetize to. You have to use enough eyeliner or else the lashes won't stick properly but even though I did so, the inner corner would come apart. Not only that but the thick eyeliner gave me too heavy of a look. I don't have the patience to try the kind you glue on... lol.

I was afraid of the glue (very sensitive skin) so I tried the magnetized lashes. I scratched my cornea trying to apply them. They are too difficult to put on, and I have great dexterity in my hands.

I wore them almost daily back in the Disco Era. Even those of us older than the club goers dressed to the 9's with flawless hair and makeup. My experience with false eyelashes was positive and a routine step. They did add to my finished look. I remember buying them often to keep them looking their best.

A few years later, Father Time decided I needed glasses. I could not wear contacts. The lashes smeared my lenses, so I gave them up.

I can't get them to lay right and I have a medicine induced tremor so I keep missing my target!

I can use the little individual pieces at the end but I rarely think to do it.

Many years ago, I wore the type that you glue each individual lash on seperate. You did not remove them at night. After a while, some fell off and I would need

them filled in...about every 10 days or so.

I no longer wear them. I hardly ever wear make-up at all. I am retired and mostly stay home.

I have a friend who wears false lashes everyday when out and about. She has worn them since we were in high school. My DH refers to them as caterpillar lashes when he notices false eyelashes.

While I was getting my brows threaded I had lashes applied on a whim. I was horrified. I was embarrassed to have to go through the mall to my car. Looked liked big spiders up there. I walked in the door at home reaching for the olive oil and saturated those creatures until they fell off. I've never been tempted since and when I see all the people working in customer service that have those big flappers on I want to stare in amazement. But I do know a handful of people that do their own and they look great.
