Eye Concealer for mature skin

You ladies on this blog are amazing and I need your help and advice. I'm 55 and I have been searching for a good under eye concealer for years that doesn't settle into lines or dry the skin and covers well as I have dark circles and "carry on bags" lol as I call them. I trust real ladies opinions on here, not the salespeople as they say every product is fabulous and we all know that's not true. Thank you in advance!

I don't use concealer. I either use a color corrector or eye shadow primer and then take my foundation right up to my lash line.

I have been using the Westmore 60-second Eye Effects I got here on Q and love it! I use to use the Genie undereye product but switched to this and it works great!

I don't use concealer. However, on a whim, around Thanksgiving, I purchased A399289 IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illumination Duo w/Brush, to try a brightening effect and I really like it. I wasn't sure I would because I'm not a fan of the illumination foundation. I only need a pinhead amount. It's thick so I mix it with a tiny drop of my Skinn Luminous Oil and press/tap it in place. If you want to set with powder, I'd suggest a very light application. The product comes in an assortment of shades so yiu can choose accordingly.

It cosmetics Bye Bye undereye. It is waterproof. Important during a Florida summer. I also like Tarte Shape Tape. Both products spread easily and require only a teeny amount to do the job

Award winning and less than $10.00 on Amazon, I use Maybelline Eraser in the shade 110. It never cakes or emphasizes tiny lines. It can also be used if you have a spot you wish to hide. Most days I wear no foundation but spot conceal with this. It perfects my complexion.

I have tried many including Bobbi Brown, Lancôme, a myriad of the best brands. None of them worked like this.💕

I use NARS radiant creamy concealer. A little goes a long way and I like it because that formulation has a wide shade range. Hope that helps!

@RollTide2008 I've seen videos this past week by Vincent Ford (NARS) and Bobbi Brown recommending using a color corrector prior to concealer. I'm going to have to try your method, thanks!

I am 72 with dark hereditary under eye circles and was trying so hard to find something that works. So far the It cosmetics undereye works as well as I can find. Have a Triangle puff with a fine powder like Bare minerals or It cosmetics loose powder ready to apply right after you apply the concealer before it migrates and you will be good. It does not dry down unless you powder it. Also I like Tarte Shape tape. It dries down so you don't really need to powder that one. Also after makeup is done I take a final look in magnifying mirror and use a Q tip to smooth out any residue in lines and wrinkles under eye and on face.

Morning !

I am 59 with fine lines . I also have dark circles . I really enjoy the ELF hydrating CAMO Concealer . I do use a peachy color corrector . I recently purchased the ELF peach Color Corrector and it is great . The two together work very well . I have in the past used RMS uncover as well . I purchased this over the weekend when RoseMarie was on . She has added a few colors since I last used it and want to try one of the newer shades.

@KittySoftPaws Goodmorning. I usually recommend beginning with a hydrating eye cream and waiting until that sets. A corrector next will neutralize the darkness before concealer is applied. Place the corrector and concealer only on the darker areas, not along the undereye in a "u" shape. Let it set a moment and then tapi it in with fingers.The heat of your fingers will blend it well.

I use Bobbi BrownCorrector (they are peach toned). Pixi makes a more afforable one. For concealers, I like Nars Creamy Concealer because it's lightweight and doesn't build up when a corrector is used under it. Lancome also has a lightweight creamy one.

I've always recommended Maybelline's Age Rewind Eraser Concealer. It's very affordable, most cost under $10, so if it doesn't work out for you then no great loss. But for that price it's worth giving it a try and if you buy the wrong shade, it won't break the bank to buy another one in the right shade. Use the other for contour.

The Neutralizer shade has color-correcting pigments and is mostly universal.

The Brightener shade is what it says and has a pink-ish undertone.

The rest of the shades are what you would buy in a foundation so just get the closest match.

Don't apply too much at once. That's the most common mistake using the Maybelline. You can always layer more if needed and you won't need to set it unless you have oily skin or if your eye cream is on the oily/emollient side.

@KittySoftPaws , I also like the Maybelline mentioned here, but I find with everything I've used I have to play with it, using a good eye cream first, then careful application, not too much, patting it in, and I always seem to need to top off with a tiny more eye cream and pat again. It's a pain, IMO, but worth it. I never had any dark circles, never even applied foundation under my eyes, they always looked lighter.. then starting a few years ago, I got this sunken, exhausted look. I also sometimes use Bobby Brown corrector, and concealer, but I have have to do the same steps. The Maybelline is a quick application, and you can use it on the lids if you wanted. I also like Becca, it's a brightener, more expensive, just an easy 1-2 pat in. There are cheaper ones that look exactly the same if you search online. With each and every one of the these, it's a step by step experiment finding what works for you. I wish I didn't have to use anything, time consuming and annoying to see the product settle into lines, then have to pat in again, or use more eye cream. I prefer the brightening ones, not concealers which I find too yellow or dark...its just not necessary, go for the light, brightener, and apply over your foundation. Use as little as possible with anything under the eyes, or it will crease.

I'll share my personal feelings...most mornings I look so exhausted, you'd think I got punched in both eyes, or I look plain sick...so I apply a little Keilhs avocado eye cream, then dab on the Maybelline and pat in. This is just for around the house, and outside here...I feel self conscious so this helps alot.
