I am doing fine with my Doctor Teals but for some reason want to try this. The reviews mostly say it works great but the smell of it is not great. What scents are the best?

@chiclet a dermatologist I follow on YouTube says Lume is nothing but a moisturizer with fragrance in it. She advises not wasting your money on it.

That isn't how it works for me-very good and worthwhile product for me-very long lasting!

They are pretty similar, but the purpose isn't to cover anything with a scent, it is to keep any odors away until the next shower It works for me-i just use the bar soap and it lasts a long time and I'm very careful with my $.

I use this deodorant and love it. No odor what so ever, definitely worth the cost. I buy peony rose, but really I would use any scent. It's not like typical deodorant where you smell "perfume" throughout the day. The scent- at least to me- is only really there when first applying. I would say at least give it a try, if you don't like it then you'll know. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Lume's active ingredient is an AHA, mandelic acid. It works by changing the skin's pH slightly so that stinky bacteria don't like to live there. Plus the mandelic acid lightly exfoliates the skin so that takes away the 'food' on which the bacteria feast. Sounds gross but that's how it works.

I did alot of reading before I purchased Lume deodorant. I selected the Tangerine scent based on the published comments shared by hundreds of testers. And am pleased. It doesn't have any offensive smell underneath and the light citrus scent is actually quite nice. I would recommend this scent to anyone and would definately repurchase.

And no, I do not agree that this is a scented moisturizer at all. Lume is, without doubt, definitely a deodorant product.

I use the coconut scent--I like it. I use the lavender and sage scent from Schmidts and like that too.

In case you may have missed some of Lume's current ads, they talk about the reformulation of the scents due to many customer complaints and dissatisfaction. It sounds like they're punching up the fragrance in the scent options offered.

@Texasmouse I would take the opinions of those who are using it before I take the word of a doctor who, IMO, if they don't see a financial gain in the product won't recommend it.

Try wiping your underarm with Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) to change the ph and discourage bacteria. I use Braggs organic ACV. It's a temporary fix, especially in a rather closed or the lesser exposed underarm area. But it does work.

I also read about a glycolic deodorant on line somewhere. Kostas, or something like that ... helps change the ph and alter the bacterial environment. I had a bottle of glycolic cleanser and have been using that. Seems to help but I can't offer specific percentages etc just thinking and trying.

What do you think @SilleeMee ? Any thoughts or opinions?

I use the unscented...Target has Lume in store & online, they sell the mini try me size...that's a good way to sample the scents before buying the full size.

The ACV hack makes sense. That stuff has many good uses 👍

There is a moisturizer on the market call Lume Bio. It's not made by the same people who make the deodorant.

Salicylic acid in a 2% strength works also. There are several kinds of products with 2% BHA including pads, toners, astringents and liquid exfoliants. Stridex comes in a 2% BHA w/o alcohol and that can be used to cleanse private areas as well. I like to use Clean & Clear Astringent w/2% BHA /alcohol on my armpits before I apply my regular deoder/antiper. Let it dry beforehand of course. Many choices when it comes to 2% salicylic acid products.

Glycolic acid in 10% or lower will work also. Keep in mind the higher percentages will tend to feel more tacky with that kind of acid.

My sister sent me a trial size of Malen & Goetz Eucalyptus deodorant. I'm addicted to it and it's all that I use now. I don't even have to apply daily. The scent is wonderful and it's effective. There is also no bad stuff in it that has been mentioned.

I think they offer several scents from which to choose, and it lasts FOREVER!
