Help with foundation

I have purchased just about every foundation sold on bith QVC and HSN...Now I am 67 and even the more moisturizing ones dry on me. I need full coverage.. I NEED recommendations ladies. I am thinking about IT again.....I did like the coverage...Not sure about which Tarte....though I tried the one in brown tube and didn't like it....too dry....Skinn serum just sinks into my skinn !!! Do not want Hollywood pain like TCE....sorry Joyce Dalton..! Anybody have anything to sugest for me ????? I like creamy coverage.....full coverage.....moisturizing.....THANK YOU !!

I'm interested in the replies as well.

While I like the coverage, both IT CC creams I have emphasize the lines around my eyes. It's also difficult to completely remove.

I know it's inconvenient, but maybe branch out from HSN/QVC. Go to an Ulta or Sephora if there's one nearby and let them help you find one. I don't think I've ever seen a foundation specifically for mature skin presented on HSN/QVC. They're all about saying every product is for every skin color/type which isn't true.

There are several You Tubers who talk about beauty for mature skin. Tamara's Timeless Beauty and Mrs. Melissa M are two off the top of my head. If you search "foundation for mature skin", I'm sure a few options will come up. These probably won't give you an answer, but they will give you an idea about what's available and what might work best for your issues.

How are you prepping your skin? My face feels super dry today. I know it's because I was in a hurry and rushed through my prep.

Maybe using a primer will help. That will create a smooth impermeable surface so your favorite foundation will work out for you.

Estee Lauder double wear is my favorite but it may be too drying for you, my second favorite is lancome and that is not as drying,if you buy it at macys and don't like it you can return it.

@mariadomenica If you need full coverage and are familiar with IT cosmetics I suggest you try their Bye Bye Foundation if you havent already.

It is a different formula/texture than their CC cream and boasts itself as being "a moisturizer with color pigments". It is very moisturizing in my opinion, creamy in texture as you prefer - very emollient.

Personally, I don't care for IT's foundations as they are all full coverage which is not my preference. The only one of their's I like is the newest CC Nude Glow formulation which is a medium, sheerer coverage.

Since you have tried IT foundations/cc creams before you should already know your shade so that's a plus. I hope this helps in your search!

Just a couple of points .. I have used Derma Blend for acne scars on

my neck .. fabulous product ..

Definitely a primer .....I went into Utla to have them help me with

foundation .... I promised myself I wasn't picking out colors anymore

without help .... I am 75 .. Gal suggested Urban Decay .. thought that

was more for young people .. but it is wonderful ... they also have

a spray that sets the foundation ....I also found a Mac color that

was good for my skin ... like that too ....but seriously .. consider

having someone help you ....

@mariadomenica - I can't help much because my skin is not that dry. But I suggest you ask @Shanus . She will be able to give you good recommendations. Good luck!

@mariadomenica As another suggested check all your skincare to be sure they are not drying.

I think you may need a better moisturizer, more emollient, then put a primer on top to seal it in before any foundation is applied.

I can't suggest a particular moisturizer or foundation since I think you need to get the dryness under control first.

Of course, if this continues, I'd say see a derm to be sure you don't need an RX moisturizer that may not have any additives.

***Sometimes the skin's barrier has been "disturbed/damaged" and you may need to discontinue all skincare and add one back at a time until it heals.

I started using the Neutrogena hydro boost line.
I don't like the tinted foundation as much as the tinted moisturizer. IMO, the foundation is not easily blendable and lacks color choices BUT the tinted moisturizer is much better and you can build it up to the coverage level you want. I've done that and been pleased with the results. I have to also add, due to the lack of color choices, I had to buy 2 and mix.
I also have dry skin and the Neutrogena hydro boost line is the only one that I've found specifically made for dry skin. I really like the hydro boost concealer.
I have noticed that if I use an eye oil rather than eye cream, my concealer blends better and looks much more hydrated than using a cream.
Every other foundation I buy does exactly what you say yours does so I stopped buying them and just focused on trying something different.
This hydro line has been a pleasant surprise.
I'm hoping you find something that works for you. Dry skin and makeup can be a challenge.

This sounds simple but it's been working great for my dry skin ( so much that my skin has not felt dry since I started doing this)
I add a layer of vasoline over my skincare morning and night. Just a light layer. After 10 minutes, my skin looks plumped and hydrated. I have never had any irritation or breakouts doing it.
The ladies on this board recommended serums. I had only been using EL advanced night repair serum which wasn't helping much. So I added 3 serums to my night routine and 3 different serums to my day routine. Now my skin never feels dry unless I cleanse. I cleanse with a cleansing oil but any cleansing makes me run back to the vanity to hydrate.
After I started doing these steps, I've been much happier with the way my skin feels and looks.
It could be until your have tweaked your skincare, you may not find a foundation that suits your needs.

Speaking of exfoliation, I bought Inkey lactic acid because I don't really enjoy exfoliating with a cleansing scrub. You've always been a big help to me and my skin is really improving. Ty 😌😌

I totally agree. @mariadomenica said that she didn't like Tarte. Tarte was too thick for me. The Neutrogena is looking good on me. I can build up the coverage like a foundation but it's thin like a moisturizer.
I haven't tried the Hourglass primer yet 🤞

@mariadomenica My skin is dry. I use FUTURIST by Estee Lauder. You can build the foundation to the level you want.

For me IT foundation and RMS are very yellow. I was very disappointed in RMS because their web site offered a color match to my foundation - huge waste of money. I did contact the company but guess they have on interest in helping their customers, they never contacted me.

I suggest going to a make up counter for a color match.

NO nothing is close to me , that's the problem. I get tired of being patient and waiting on something to get sent to me. I've been looking tjmaxx because I figure they'll have something before anyone else but no luck.
Walmart carries Elf but guess which Elf product they don't carry?? Lol

IHerb has pretty fast shipping I could look there.
