Was having a hard time typing my post in the same post as the item description so writing it here. After my recent purchase of Sigma brushes, I realized I needed better brush storage/organization than what I have. Found this on Amazon and thought it was great. I can organize my brushes, stand it up while putting makeup on, then close it up and put it away. My brushes stay protected and not out in the open. Have this on my Amazon wish list for the next time I place an order. It got very good reviews too.

Since I only take minimal makeup, if any, when I travel, that's way too much for me. I have a plexiglass container made up of several tubes that I store mine out on a shelf in my bathroom. I bought one years ago from a pace called Stacks & Stacks which I think is no longer in business. But I managed to find the same container this year at The Container Store when mine fell apart, so I bought two just in case. It's called the Umbra Tube Countertop Organizer.

@JudyLI have a similar brush roll for when I'm on a "job". Mine has a strarp attachment that goes around my waist to be hands free to hold other products.

At home I have all my brushes in clear glass mugs on my vanity. They're washed often, so dust doesn't have time to collect.

Blowing on brushes to get off extra product is a NO... ...germs. Tap it on mirror or the compact in use.

@mare54We really don't need that many, but it's like foundations or creams...buying the next best thing.

Necessary brushes? One or two shadow brushes (larger for laying down product and a fluffy one to blend), a foundation brush w/ soft bristles and maybe has a smaller brush at other end to apply/blend concealer, a fluffy powder brush and one for blush. I like ones that are not real hair so I can use them for cream or powder products. I do use IT Spray Love (?) to keepmy brushes clean after each use and wash thoroughly weekly.

@monicakm- no it's not a bad thing to have brushes out in the open that I know of. It's just my personal preference to not have them that way.

@Icegoddess- I wasn't planning on using this for travel so that isn't an issue. I don't take a lot of makeup with me when I travel so have something smaller that I would use. Also prefer not to have my brushes in glasses or containers where they are out in the open. Just my preference.

@mare54- some people like to have a variety of brushes. If that isn't your thing, then this item wouldn't be for you. But for those of us that like to have different brushes, then it is an option. Other items along with the brushes can be stored in it such as eyeliner and eyebrow pencils.

I cant tell but does this Brush Case have that Clear Half Flap, that lays over the tops of Brushes, before zipping it up?

I have a lot of brushes, several are duplicates. It allows me to use "clean brushes" each time, and wash a bunch of brushes all together, to save time, & still be able to continue to use a clean brush, each time.

(added: Plus I have a nice assortment..)

@JoyFilled WarriorI bought this from The Container Store --it's supposed hold lipsticks, but I use it to hold 4 Urban Decay eyeliner pencils in each opening & there are 4 separate holes around the center opening.

I think the Container Store no longer sells this: It can fit into a medicine cabinet too.
