I love The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm.

I wipe my face with a wet microfiber cloth, then apply the balm, massage in and then rinse off. I do a second light cleanse with a Cerave cleanser just because I like to. Probably not necessary, but I prefer it. I only use the balm when I'm removing makeup.

I have never used any makeup melting balms--But I would like to try one. I understand the balm removes makeup better than just cleanser.

Does anyone have a favorite? Are they all about the same?

I prefer one that is --clean--

Thank you

It's fragrance-free and does a good job of removing makeup. I follow it with a gentle, fragrance-free lotion cleanser.

I don't follow or believe in "clean beauty" so I can't speak to that, but I like the Seoul Cleansng Balm sold on HSN. I still use Bi-Facil eye makeup remover first just to get that started, but the cleansing balm gets the rest of it off as well as all my makeup and it doesn't sting my eyes if I open them. I don't follow with a 2nd cleanse. To me, one cleanse should be enough.

I've used both of these. I like both equally but I think the better value is the Clean It Zero.

I like Abolene Face Moisturizer and Makeup Remover. Good and cheap-under $15. You just rub on face, wipe off and then cleanse with whatever other cleanser you want. (I usually do a double cleanse at night. I don't know if you would like that or not.)

I second E.l.f holy hydration cleansing balm. It does a good job removing makeup. I use it with a cotton cloth and follow with a mild cleanser. The balm itself isn't enough to cleanse, so one needs to follow with another cleanser.

My favorite is Banilla Co. Clean It Zero in the pink jar. I've used it for a few years. I either use that or Palmer's Cleansing Oil as my makeup removal pre-cleansing step. Both are excellent. The balm is a little easier for travel.

I used the Clinique balm in the past and liked it but I got tired of putting my hands in the jar to take out the product. It always got under my nails and is also unsanitary. I now use a makeup remover in a pump bottle. It's much easier and isn't messy.

I like the Seoul Cleansing Balm from HSN and use a little scoop to remove it from the container (I keep several of these handy and clean with alcohol). Love it for removing eye makeup that is supposed to last and does. Then I usually follow with a second cleanse. I also use Tatcha Camillia Oil cleanser. Just depends on which one I happen to pick up.

@bronxgal1You have received some good recommendations so far. I also think Clinique's Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is good, but the only one that has ever turned me completely into a balm cleanser girl is Elemis Cleansing Balm. It is fabulous. It leaves my skin feeling completely clean (including mascara and long-wear lipstick), yet soft and ready to receive the skincare treatment products. I generally only use it at night because I prefer the refresh of a mild exfoliating type cleanser (such as Tactcha's Rice Powder Cleanser).

It has to be mentioned that the Elemis balm is expensive ($66 for 3 ounces). I often get lucky and can get the product on sale (such as half-price during one of Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty events). I discovered it a couple of years ago from QVC with the purchase of a set of three one-ounce jars that was less than the price of one full-size 3-ounce jar elsewhere.
