Right now I use Elemis collagen cream, but I can't carry that jar with me. So I might try Burt's Bees. By the way, did you know Surgeon's Skin Secret is basically wax? I have a tube from way back when it was on QVC and it is still good. I should try that, too.

Cuticle cream ..... Isn't it basically an oil-based moisturizer?

Wouldn't hand cream work just as well?

If it has any special features or benefits, what are they?

I use Burt's Bees cuticle cream. And It works much better than any other hand cream I've tried for my cuticles.

I use Avon Intensive Moisture Therapy on my hands, but it doesn't moisturize my cuticles like Burt's Bees.

Burt's Bees has a consistency similar to Surgeons Skin Secret stick.

For me using a cuticle cream or oil is an added step when I need extra conditioning on my cuticles. Ordinarily I just use lotion but sometimes I need more for my cuticles b/c they get very dry especially this time of year. I like to use jojoba butter on my cuticles. Even some Burt's Bees lip balm works well on them in a pinch or when I'm away from my jojoba butter.

-----------

Whether or not a cuticle cream is necessary probably depends on the condition of your nails/cuticles.

Not for me, I have very litle skin in that area, use nothing there. Always use a good hand cream.

I have never used cuticle cream - never had a need. I use an olive oil bar soap and Avon hand cream.

That seems to work just fine.

Mostly for me, no. I use O'Keefe's Working Hands nightly and have been adding Dr. Nassif's face serum as an occlusive on top until I run out of it. I can't use it on my face since it causes hard bumps. I do, however, have one finger that's a problem, and I'm always trying to find something to soften it. It tends to overgrow and I'm bad at picking at it. I used to get a lot of hangnails in that finernail and I would pull them out, but it got infected once. I've had trouble with it ever since. I always use any exfoliant I put on my face on it too, like the Dr. Nassif Peel Pads. I've also used a much higher % glycolic acid pad on it in the past.

BTW, I no longer pull out my hangnails, but clip them with the nail clippers as close as possible.
