Ulta & Target Partnership

I was in Target today, the first time in quite awhile. The store is undergoing remodeling and looks great.

Ulta has a mini store set up in Target offering a wide array of products and reps working with Ulta tags.

Are they doing this in most Target stores or is this for just a select few?

Since Kohl's went with Sephora, Target must have enlisted Ulta to offer the same.

My Target added Ulta too. I think it's just the larger stores.

I've noticed the re-construction of the makeup dept., etc., at my Target and how much bigger and organized it is now, did not realized they partnered with Ulta, I will have to check it out the next time I visit Target.

I live in Central Florida and Ulta has had a presence in Target for many months. Not more than items on the cosmetics shelves labeled "Ulta". I hope they do enlarge it. Target is closer than the Ulta store..

I have four Targets within a 15 minute drive from me. So far none have an Ulta. I have an Ulta store within a 10 minute drive. The furthest Target is the only one that seems to be remodeling to possibly include the Ulta.

Most larger Targets now have Ulta inside - also you can link your Ulta reward account to your Target reward account

@OKPrincess I don't think Ulta will close its large stores.

I believe those in Target will be satellite stores just as Sephora is at Kohl's.

I did learn that as far as Sephora at Kohl's, you cannot do returns there for items purchased at a different Sephora, only at their store.

I imagine it comes down to how close the two stores are to one another. The Sephora by me is half a mile away from a large Kohl's. That Kohl's doesn't have the Sephora inside. A much smaller Kohl's about 20 miles away does have the Sephora.

@Mersha Sounds like a Sephora in JC Penney's. It's much smaller, of course, than the regular Sephora store.

I went into my local Target last week and did notice they had rearranged the beauty dept. Took no notice if there was an Ulta. I'm not big on shopping and wandering around stores. I go in, get what I went for and leave.

Probably has something to do with the fact that Ulta head, Kecia Lamm Steele, is a former Target VP.

The Target closest to me is pitiful. Whether beauty shopping or otherwise. I've stopped going there because their beauty section is the worst that I've seen in a store that size and the rest of the store is not that great either. The mall that it is in has recently sold and all the stores will be leaving except for Target so that means the Ulta store in the mall will be closing. Maybe now, the Target's beauty section will improve.

I drive to the Ulta in the town nearby me to get what I need.

Sephora stores are leaving JC Penney by the end of the year. Also, if one purchases anything on line from Sephora, you cannot return it to a Kohl's Sephora. Only a free standing Sephora store.

The nearest Sephora to me is in a Kohl's. When it comes to Sephora brand items, this store is usually out of stock on most of them. If you go on line to check if an item you want to buy is available at the Kohl's Sephora, it only shows it being available at regular, free standing Sephora stores. Does not list any Kohl Sephora's. I even emailed Sephora about this, and they said "they would check into this!".
