Josie Maran QA - where is it??

I've been using JM's products for years. Recently I ordered her Argan Cake & Coffee Polish Exfoliating Body Scrub. I can't tell you how dissappointed I was in this product!! First, it smells NOTHING like coffee. Second, the smell was so rancid that I packed it back up in the box and sent it back to the Q.

I also ordered another scrub (the scent was peppermint bark). You could smell the peppermint, but then it had a wierd after smell - almost plastic/crayon like in nature. That went back as well.

Then I ordered a kit that had her body butter in it. The scent was vanilla cream. UGH...smelled nothing like vanilla and had a chemical wierd smell as well.

So I ask Josie....where is your quality assurance?? I can't believe you are pushing such products as the Argan Cake & Coffee Polish Exfoliating Body Scrub and being dishonest to your customers telling them it smells like coffee when it doesn't! And I checked the reviews on this particular product and a lot of them say the same thing I did.

I will no longer be purchasing ANY of your exfoliating scrubs or body butters. I'll stick to Beekman for my body cream. And I just ordered two scrubs from The Body Shop.

Has anyone else had such bad experiences with Josie's products?

@Qshopper1991 I am just wondering if any of the things you tried were sealed? Also, I am assuming she eliminates any preservative, although some oils are natural preservatives.

Yes, everything was sealed like Fort Knox. And yes, no preservatives are used, but don't go on TV and tell everyone that a certain product smells like coffee and it doesn't. I was very taken back by the fact that her and the hosts lied about the smell.

I no longer use many of her products (I am in love with her RESERVE oil and use that daily), but I used to find that anytime I'd get her color sticks in a kit (for blush or lips), they would ALWAYS SMELL RANCID to me. Absolutely vile.

So many products with the smell off? No offense but maybe your nose is off.

If it's not right-- send it back and call so you don't get charged shipping. I haven't had any problems with Josie's products, but I don't like the smell of the color sticks at all. I don't buy them for that reason. I am also not super crazy about the pineapple cleanser smell. It's not pineapple at all. But I like the results.

My experience with her products has been even if it smelled okay to begin with the rancid smell would quickly ensue. Plus for me the products simply would never sink into my skin...I was a greasebomb!

Oh, and then there's those blatant falsehoods she tells all the time on air. Nooooooo thanks.

I've used her body butter from the Q for over seven years without any issues. You may want to try ordering directly from Josie's site, they have sales periodically & include free samples. Their shipping time is super fast & many times free, I've been super happy with my experieces there.

I have never had an issue with Josie's products and use many of them. However, I always order unscented. I recently ordered her men's 3 pack of body butters. I have to say that they have a light, clean scent. They are unisex as far as I can tell......at least, I am using them. LOL The scent fades quickly.

I have never had a problem with her body butters soaking into my skin, but maybe because I am a dried up old bat that needs the hydration.

Hey, to each their own. I wasn't happy with Beekman body cream. It felt waxy to me. I do like their body and face serum though.

To the OP, I would send it back and get a full refund. While I know you are frustrated, I wouldn't start a thread that bashes an entire line.

I have excellent smell and taste (like a hound dog...lol). No offense taken. Something is up with some of her products. It's such a shame

I have found it safer (for me) no matter what the line is, to order the unscented. I don't care for floral and it really dumbfounds me that people want to smell like food item.

I normally stick to unscented, but last Christmas my sister gave me a small jar of Josie's body butter and it was scented (Vanilla Pear). I loved the scent so much that I figured I would try another scent. And you are right - I will stick to the unscented

I am a JM body butter devotee and have tried many of her scents and I find most are very accurate to my nose. .
