FOUNDATION WITHOUT SPF?

I'm seeing most YTbers applying foundation w/o skincare or SPF. This definitely makes a difference in the appearance and longevity of foundations.

Have you been noticing this as well?

Oh gee, @monicakm . I'm so sorry! My FIL was a Marine, so I understand. When my dad fell on a stone patio he didn't break a thing. But Mom broke several ribs when she fell on their tile floor. Sending you patience and wishes for a good diagnosis for dad.

@Shanus - I haven't. The ones I watch always say that they have already applied their skin care and sunscreen before they started filming.

I don't apply my foundation immediately after my skincare. I usually wait 20 minutes or so (or the amount of time it takes me to set my hair, feed my cat, fix a cup of coffee, and roll my kid out of bed).

Can you image Stephanie Marie or Jessica Braun yippy yapping about nonsense while they wait for their skincare to set? *shudder*

I don't use SPF unless I'm actually going to be in the sun for more than 15-20 minutes--which is very rare for me. But I can't imagine putting foundation on without using moisturizer first (that's the only skincare I use).

@Shanus - I've never seen any YT apply foundation without some type of skin care and sunscreen. This is the first I've heard of it.

@Shanus I have not noticed the difference with foundation w/o SPF lasting longer and looking better. That is news to me.

Patience has never been my strong suit, either...I'm so grateful that we didn't have deal with dementia in any of ours. For their sakes and, selfishly, for mine!

He "was" a Marine because he passed away 3 years ago (6 weeks short of his 98th birthday!). Past tense for people who have departed.

Oh @monicakm , I'm so sorry to hear that. My DH is in the early stages of Alzheimers and I can tell that he is going to be like your dad - confused and in denial/angry. Unfortunately, just like you, I'm short on patience. Not a great combination. I'll keep your parents in my prayers.

@monicakm @Yes, I know something of what you're going through. My parents were 90 and 94. They had health problems of course, not dementia though. I was a caregiver for each of them and knew it was a privilege to be able to do it, but it took a toll. Still I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat to have them back as long as they didn't suffer, and that wouldn't have been possible. So I take comfort from knowing they're back together and in a better place. I miss them every day.

Sounds like your parents are in a wonderful place. It's great that your daughter was able to help so much!

@monicakm @Yes that was a lot for you to process and handle. It would be a lot for anyone. I guess it's never easy but still. Some times are especially hard.
