Wen Bella Spirit Defining Texture Paste

Maybe someone can educate me on this product because I'm ready to toss it out. Maybe I have held on to it too long, it's past its prime. I find it is very dry, stiff if you will, I take a little bit in my hands to warm it up and put it through my hair ( I do it on dry hair). I find it doesn't go through my hair well, it's sticky, and it does nothing for me. Should I just chalk it up as it's not the right product for me or am I doing something wrong?
