I guess you can try it---and if it starts to sting you can rinse it off---have no experience with a separate eyelid primer. I use a powder shadow, like bisque or well- rested from Bare Essentials as a primer. Also tartes shape tape too.

My eyelid primer is almost gone. I have a jar of ELF Poreless Putty Primer, can that be used on my eyelids also? I was going to buy more eyelid primer, but I might not need to if the putty primer is OK to set eyeshadow.

TIA,

I've never used the putty primer but I'm a big fan of NARS eyelid primer. I get it from Sephora online and sometimes they're out so I'll try another brand, then always go back to NARS. My eyelids are in their 70s and wrinkly/crinkly. NARS is the only one I've tried that invisibly sinks into the skin, doesn't crease, doesn't turn white and flaky, and one that actually keeps my eyeliner on all day through. I know this isn't what you asked, just stating my opinion

Don't know how helpful this will be but I know that Angie from the Youtube channel, Hot and Flashy, has definitely used the regular Elf Putty Primer as eyeshadow primer. She uses the matte version that was in the little set pictured below where you get a poreless, matte, and luminous version. After seeing her video I tried the matte that way myself a time or two and thought it was fine, but day in and day out I like Milani eyeshadow primer the best. Finally, FWIW, I also have the Elf Putty Eye Primer which is a different product specifically made for the eyes and I don't like it at all. It's very dry...don't know if that's how it's supposed to be or if I just got a old/bad one. Certainly can't recommend it.

The website says that the Putty Primer can be used on eyelids before eyeshadow application. I plan on trying that to see if it works. If not, I have light matte shades I could use as a base, as Shanus suggested.

I'll decide what to do when my eyelid primer completely runs out.
