Buy body wipes, they work great or simply use a washcloth. Be well @I am still oxox.

We keep a package of baby wipes in the bathroom. Comes in handy for all your extra cleaning needs.

Rinse-free-no-shower/bathing-wipes. Just google and find them. Several brands out there.

This is a common problem post surgery, injury etc. Depending on your physical limitations using a bathing wipe (no rinse kind) or just a basin of water for a "bird" bath works really well. Other posters have covered the options well too.

@I am still oxox What some refer to as bird baths, I call a "Lizzie". This may be a southern thing.

It's Lizzie Borden who killed her folks w/ an ax, was covered in blood and stood in or near a basin of water to clean off. Disgusting thought, but the washcloth and basin or sink of warm water works great.

Anyone mention dry shampoo if needed?

*Feel better soon...nothing like a warm shower or bath.

i don't know your limitations but if you can sit on the toilet, i'd recommend a bidet. wishing you a swift recovery.

@Shanus Hi, don't want to take thread off track but Lizzie Borden did her evil deeds in Massachusetts. @I am still oxox I would think a washcloth and soap on the necessary parts would work.

I've heard it called something else but it's inappropriate to use here. 😉
I would suggest body wipes, wash clothes and Lume. You can use it under arms, feet and down "there". I use it in unscented and it gives a nice extra level of scent protection. You could also use a warm basin to stick your feet in too.
A bidet is a good idea. Tushy has an easy add on for about $100.
Good Luck! Surgery is hard enough without that yucky feeling!

It's already been mentioned but I vote for the Sink Basin, with warm water and a wash cloth to clean under arms and other areas that need to be cleaned.

I don't know what body part you're not allowed to get wet but can't you stand in the shower and only wash the "necessities" with a hand-held shower head?

Before surgery I was asked to wash with some special soap but I was afraid to because I am allergic to certain soaps. So no special soap and they did not give me an alternative and I ended up with a Steph infection.

With so much available on the market, there shouldn't be any problem. When I had surgery and couldn't take showers for nearly two weeks. I did sponge baths and bent over a sink to wash my hair. A good ol' washcloth and soap does the trick. Before people grew accustomed to daily baths/showers, that's what they did. Let's face it, there's nothing like a hot shower, but when you can't have one, there are alternatives.

I was in the hospital for 40 days last year after a major surgery that went horribly wrong.

They gave me "Secura". It is a "no rinse" cleaning spray and couldn't be easier.

I put it on a damp washcloth and use over entire body. It's especially good for your personal parts. After I got home I still could not shower for months and so I continued to use Secura. I purchase it on Amazon.

I have very sensitive skin and never had a reaction which I have to others as I'm allergic to aloe. It works like a dream and you will be so fresh and clean.

I'm going to Europe for 3 weeks and am bringing a bottle with me. It's great and I prefer it to soap. Good luck!
