I don't know if any of you follow Laura Geller on social media but she announced that she was declaring April 9th as "Mature Women's Day".

To honor women over 40 and to celebrate this occasion, she was offering any woman over 40 to enter their email address and their birthday on her website on April 9th and she would send you a code on April 11th for a discount on her products, equivalent to your age. In other words, if you were 50 years old, your code would give you 50% off. (In my case, I'd get 65% off so I was pretty excited.)

April 11th rolled around and when I still hadn't received my code at 4:30 pm, I emailed their customer service, asking if it would be sent soon and got a prompt reply saying that I would get it by the end of the day and that it would be valid until April 30th. Great!

Fast forward to today, after several follow-up emails, messages through Instagram and a phone call to an actual human, they're still "working on it" but no code yet. I asked the girl I spoke to if I was the only one having trouble and she said I wasn't. How complicated could this be?

Well, I'm starting to think this was just a scam and I must say, I'm pretty disappointed because, not only was I pleased with all of the makeup that I've tried but I also thought pretty highly of Laura Geller herself.

If they don't come through with this code by Monday, I'm going to stop doing business with Laura Geller but not before I send one last communication, letting them know what I think about their integrity and why I'm boycotting their products from now on.

Did anybody else participate in this offering and, if so, did you ever receive your discount code?

I got the email but did not participate. Even discounted, I just don't need ANY more makeup...probably for the rest of my life.

I understand your frustration, but I think you need to give them more time to correct their situation. They would have sent that promo to THOUSANDS of us.....they aren't going to back out.

How hard can it be? Well, if it involves programming their system with a bunch of discount codes, VERY hard.

I have gotten emails from LG in the past where they had OOPS and they did make good on everything they promised.

Threatening them with 'end dates' and boycotts isn't the answer.

I don't believe for ONE second that Laura Geller would be involved in ANY type of a scam.

@Texasmouse I hope that you did not inform them of your actual birthday, even if the code is implemented....good idea not to give out this information on the internet with your email address. Did you reply to a link within the message? What if you reported you just celebrated you 100th birthday....would you get the product for free?

We need to be vigilant. Too much crime currently. Perhaps this was legit, but best to be aware, alert, and safe.

If the system wasn't working properly, they shouldn't have sent the email. Plus giving people a discount equal to their age sounds over generous. As another poster mentioned, sounds like a scam to me.

This sounds like a promotion that was not checked out with her IT people. I don't blame her one bit personally. I remember some dust up years ago with her company, can't recall what it was now. But they sent me "something" from the Geller office with actual stamps on it. So someone did a lot of work to make things right.

@Texasmouse Just from the little bit I know about programming and then the possible thousands of data entries from potential customers, I don't believe it's a scam- I do believe they might end up having to push back the ending date of the offer if they can't finish programming and entering the data.

Do let us know. I have always been pleased with the business I have done with LG.

I can't believe Laura G. would be involved in any type of scam. I would give them a chance to remedy the situation. No longer purchasing her products would only hurt you from no longer enjoying products you love. @Texasmouse .

The logistics of that offer would be a nightmare. Every email coupon would have to be custom, different % off. Is everyone lying? Bad idea.

A blanket 50% off would have been a better idea.

Sooo agree with you..

2 months ago I got put in FB Jail for something I didn't even say.

Now, 2 weeks ago ,I get LOCKED OUT for suspicious activity... What?

So now they want copies of birth certificates, drivers licenses, pictures, my first born child<< ( just kidding on that one)

So I told them where they can go and asked what was done that was so suspicious that they had to lock my account, never heard a thing from them.

I think in this day an age these companies ask for too much.

I doubt QVC would ever try to scam anyone, however, hackers have another set of rules....

They make me ill and you never know where or when they will show up..

Laura seems like a great human being, I doubt she would do anything like this...

Sorry it didn't work. I got the last 4 piece LG TSV, and to be honest, while I like the liner and the lippie but the BnB and the blush have no coverage or color pigment at all- Quite disappointing
