Do You Shampoo Twice

Just curious if anyone shampoos twice? I use to, thinking it cleanses your hair better, but then I stopped (don't have a reason) and only shampoo once then condition.

I shampoo once, I find that is all that's necessary. I don't use conditioner, because they are all just too much for my hair.

@Jordan2 Nope. As a young girl a hair dresser friend of my mom's told me it would dry your hair. I wash once, that's enough.

When I shampoo, I do apply twice. I only shampoo once a week, using a co-wash on other wash days. I have hard water and I can definitely tell the difference in foaming between the first applications and the second. I don't completely rinse out the first, just wet it down more and add a little more shampoo. I only use a sulfate-free shampoo except once every 5 weeks when I use Malibu Hard Water Wellness before I color to get rid of any buildup, including hard water buildup.

yes & no.........mostly yes. First one removes the hair spray, dust and cooking grease..

Second - shampoo can really get to the strands of hair and deep clean..

Hairdresser does only one - I don't say anything - would like two

Well, of course I shampoo twice. If not, that's at least a misdemeanor, if not a felony! LOL

Seriously, I use Wen, diluted 50% with water to make it much easier to use, but prefer to do it twice. I don't shampoo every day, but if I did, maye once would be enough. I can't even imagine shampooing every day.

I think it depends on your hair type. My hair still gets oily at the roots. I used to only shampoo once when I shampooed my hair daily. Now that I go longer between, I usually do it twice. I do use a very gentle sulfate free shampoo though. I concentrate on the roots and just run shampoo through the rest of my hair briefly.

When I do occasionally use a clarifying shampoo or a purple shampoo then I only do it once as those are not as gentle.

Never, but I have super-dry hair, so I always use a cleansing conditioner- My hair looks horrid if I strip the natural oils-

Depends on what I have been doing and how frequently I am washing my hair. If I go 3 days between washes, I wash twice. If I wash more often I only wash once. In summer I seem to have to wash more often.

Yes - every day. I use styling gel and hair pray and it takes two shampoos to remove it.

Funny, I was just thinking of this last week while shampooing my hair and almost asked the same question. I remember when I was a teenager I shampooed twice as that was what the directions said. But somewhere along the line decided it was not necessary and wasteful of the product. Also, my hair is not so incredibly oily now as it was when I was young. There was a time when I was a real grease head. LOL!

When I was years younger and my hair was a little oily and I used styling products, I did shampoo twice, but not now. My hair is dry and I don't use much on my hair besides light conditioner.

I used to lather twice with drugstore shampoo and also when I used WeN. I usually don't with Tweak'd - my products last me forever. I normally wash my hair every other day but sometimes I'll stretch that if I'm not leaving the house. On those extended times, I'll wash once but use the Tweak'd scrub instead of the shampoo.

I typically wash my hair every other day. On wash days I shampoo once. If I wait any longer than every other day to wash my hair, I tend to shampoo twice.
