Hi Shanus,

Question, I try to put liquid make up on with both a sponge or a foundation brush, both damp, and neither really give me flawless coverage. What am I doing wrong? I usually end up just using my fingers to blend.

Happy Friday @Effie54 . Full coverage foundation is easier applied in light layers and then build up to the desired coverage. I prefer a fluffy brush and when the coverage is achieved, I let it set for a few minutes while I go on to eyes. Then I go back to foundation with a slightly damp sponge (squeeze it out on a towel, so only barely damp) and use a dabbing motion to set foundation and take away any extra.

***Also check the skincare you're using. It may be too heavy to use under your foundation choice.

@Pecky If you've used a powder blush and powder bronzer, I'd only use a setting powder in the T Zone. When you use powder products all over your face and then a setting powder on top, you run the risk of a very matte look.

If you use cream blush and bronzer, I'd set it afterwards, but only if necessary, with a setting powder. Applying powder over cream products will dull it/matte it down which is what we try to avoid with drier skin types. Sometimes using a powder blush lightly over the cream blush, in a similar shade, is all that's necessary to set it.

@depglass AHAs and BHAs are chemical exfoliants. I prefer this type of getting radiant skin over manual exfoliants like grainy scrubs.

Although they are acids, in a low percentage, they are less harmful to the skin. The scrubs can cause tiny tears in the skin making it susceptible to enlarged pores and/or little breeding grounds for bacteria.

I'd use my AHA serum in the morning, before my Vit. C serum. My C seum goes on last before the SPF. When you pair Vit. C (an antioxident) with your sunscreen, you boost the effectiveness of the SPF.

A little technical, but AHAs are smaller molecules and can penetrate the skin better than BHAs.

@Applecakes Micellar water is a good choice for mornings or night cleansing when you don't have any makeup or sunscreen on your face.

I find that an oil cleanser is best for removing eye makeup and sunscreen. I follow that w/ a double cleanse with Vanicream Gentle Cleanser or Cetaphil. There are other gentle drugstore cleansers like Aveeno, etc.

@AbbeyPenny1226 Coincidently, about 6 months ago I traded in my beloved Skinceuticals moisturizer and eye cream for products from Kiehl's. I'm now using Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream and Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream at night....both have ingredients similar to Retin A, so defintely SPF in the morning. During the day, I've been wearing the popular Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream...a nice lightweight moisturizer.
