Another Brow Issue!

Hoping one of the many beauty savvy people here can give me some tips as to how to solve my current brow problem!

I have been getting my brows tweaked a bit and then tinted. They look much better, since they are getting more sparse and lighter.

However, the last couple times I went to the brow place, I noticed that my one brow turned out quite a bit darker than the other! Not a good look! I told the girl there and she did make it look better by using a pencil after she tinted them. However, this is not what I want. I am going there to get them tinted to look even, so I don't have to use pencil, etc. to get them that way. I have told her that I have attempted to use a vast array of brow products and am just challenged and make them look worse.

The issue is: Over the last few months my one brow has gotten much thinner than the other and is much, much lighter than the other one! The other brow has a good bit more hair and is a good bit darker, but has some white or lighter hairs through it.

I am thinking perhaps I should just forget about getting them tinted and just try to use some kind of color myself to try and get them both to look sort of even.

I bought this kit which has a stamper with powder and a lot of stencils so you can pick one which is closest to your shape. The kit I got is called "Eyebrow Stamp and Eyebrow Stencil Kit - iMethod Beauty". I am fair with light salt and pepper hair and blue/green eyes, so I don't want my brows to be really dark. So, I bought the Blonde shade. This looks pretty good on the one brow which is the most sparse and light but looks horrible on the darker/mixed brow!

Am I going to have to go darker in order to get the two to pretty much match?

Leave it to me to have 2 mismatched brows!! As if doing my brows is not difficult enough for me!

@AngelPuppy1 ---am wondering if the tint on the lighter brow should be darker to match and nothing put on the dark brow ? Is that something that makes sense? You would think that this person would have more of an idea as to what to do---I have issues with my brows too after chemo--brows and lashes are wonky at best for me. You can add to the light brow with a pencil or powder to fill it in to match and only touch up the darker one, there is a learning curve to doing brows too. Have to say, this would drive me crazy too!!

The darker brow is not that dark but is noticeable darker that the other one which is practically nonexistant in color! If I attempt to put a bit of darker on the spots on the darker brow which have white or kind of empty spots, using the lighter product I got for the lighter brow, it looks horrendous! If I use a darker product on the lighter brow --- it's like --- BOING! It is driving me nuts! I know --- there are so many more important problems but this is just one of those things -- ya know? The girl, as I said, got them looking even after she tinted them and then by using a pencil. But I tried that and it looked terrible when I did it! She told me -- it's easy. Well, for her it's easy because she does it all day long and was trained!

@AngelPuppy1 ---you need to go to another place then---I am sure there is an answer--- but I KNOW how brows can affect your image of yourself, I had none for 5 months so I looked like a ghost---dark eyes and no brows or lashes, no hair on my head and very pale skin due to the chemo---made me look way sicker than I was. Maybe get a few brow pencils in different shades and practice----there is a learning curve, maybe forget about tinting. I got amazingly proficient at doing my brows but did practice alot----now 10 years later, got all my hair back but one brow is weird and my lashes are awful---and yes it may not be the worse thing but dang it---drives me crazy

I wouldn't tint my own brows for much fear that something would go awry.

If I were you, maybe it's either time to stop getting your brows tinted and/or leave this person behind who's been doing your brows. Sounds like she's lost her touch. Then again, maybe it's time to just stop.

The product I use on my brows that are sparse on the tail end with very few greys in the mix mostly seems to be the left rather than the right, I use a product I found here $16 out the door, called Full Brow 3-in-One. It lays down color and fibers to cover and fill in. It's THE BEST procudt I've ever found and I've tried LOTS that I've found and can't get anymore. I don't need too much of it, covers the grey perfectly, stays on all day.

You may want to nix the tinting and do you own brows, one a little heavier than the other to even out the color now.

@AngelPuppy1 It is frustrating & brows do make a big difference. They are right on your face!

I use Just For Men Beard & Mustache Dye. My brows are getting some grey in them & this makes it so much easier.

I use Light Brown, which is as dark as I would want to go since my hair is grey now.

I didn't see the Blonde color choice at the store, but I see it on the web site. I would go with that if it was available.

Anyway, for your issue I would get the Blonde or Light Brown. Do both & see how they look.

If one still looks lighter, do a 2nd application of the color on just that brow. Or buy a box of the next darker color & add just a touch to the first mix to darken it a bit.

You can customize your color so that it works for each brow.

My favorite brow pencil is Mac Eye Brow Styler in Fling-Light taupe ash blonde. It's very thin & applies easily. I go across the top of my eye brow & get the line I want there first.

Then I go back & fill in sparse areas.

I brush through them so they don't look drawn on.

I use Just for Men control GX. It's a shampoo/conditioner but it is great for eyebrows and it's very inexpensive and comes in all shades. No mixing and it really lasts. I don't need to use eye pencil or anything anymore. Here's how I use it...first I dab a cotton swab with a tiny amount of Vaseline and go around my brows to keep dye off my skin. Next I slightly dampen a child size toothbrush with water and brush my brows then squeeze a tiny amount of the shampoo onto brush and apply to brows. Leave on 3 to 5 minutes then wash off. That's all there is to it. Try it I, think you'll be very pleased.

@brmmom I am not familiar with the product either and have been using the other tint. Will give the shampoo a go and see what happens. Tinting really helps the sparse brows I have.

Yes, it is not the most serious issue in the world, but our brows are right there -- front and center! It just makes me feel very self-conscious! It wouldn't be so bad if they were both just pale and not hardly there -- at least they'd be even! But having one really light and the other darker and more full --- yikes -- it's strange! I need to find a solution. I have decided I'm not doing any more tinting for a while to try and see if I can figure it out myself!

Thanks for the recommendation. I will look it up. I have decided for now to not go for any tinting and I will NOT tint them myself. But I will try out different cosmetics myself. Thanks.

I'm glad you found what works for you! I'm not going to do any tinting or dying myself. I will go the route of cosmetic products. I don't trust the dying thing myself. Thanks for the recommendations!

@AngelPuppy1 Think your only choice is to darken the other brow to match. After scrubbing it gently w/ your cleanser, it should begin to fade, but if a different product than what was used...you'll have an issue.

I don't trust brow places after the last time they tweezed a lot more than I requested and I also color my own brows w/ JUST FOR MEN mustache color...Lt. Blonde and Lt. Brown mixed. It stays on about 4-5 minutes and wipe it off w/ a warm cotton pad. Done. Then just fill in w/ pencil where needed.

You have the same coloring I do and those shades work for me.

She never over tweezed, as I don't have a lot to tweeze and I made it clear that I just wanted my brows cleaned up a bit. I am now hesitant about using any tinting or dying product. I've never used any dying processs on my brows myself and am fearful of doing this. You said you mixed the lt. blonde and lt. brown together. If I put them both on my brows, wouldn't my darker brow still turn out darker then? I don't know -- I'm not sure I want to try this. If both my brows were the same as far as the amount of hair that was there and they were the same color to begin with, then maybe I would do this, but now I'm not sure? Thank you. I appreciate your advice!

You are so welcome! Thank goodness my husband uses the product, that's what gave me the idea to try it. It's such a simple and easy fix.

Walmart or Sam's Club is where I buy it. It takes such a tiny amount to do your brows and lasts me up to 2 weeks before I need to touch up. Nice size tube...I'm sure I'll be dead before I use it all!🤭

It is a thick creamy shampoo formula that dyes the hair. Walmart has it in the men's section by the shaving cream. I got it for my hubby and thought it looks so nice and natural on his hair so why not give it a go. Very happy with the results the color doesn't turn or fade like some hair dyes. I hope you'll try it because I don't think you will need to look for any other solution.

@AngelPuppy1 You have a dilemma for sure. Why don't you try one of those mascara like wands for the eyebrows? This way you can apply pressure for the one that needs more color and less for the other one or even wipe some away. All you can do is try different products to see what works best for you but start with one and I suggest the wand type. This growing old is for the birds! You lose your eyebrows, your face drops south. The only good thing I got out of it is I no longer have to shave my legs or underarms as the hair stopped growing. Hormones -- who can understand them? lol
