MAKEUP FIRST OR GET DRESSED FIRST?

I do my makeup first. I use colors/shades that flatter my skin tone, eyes and blush or shadows that do the same. changing colors to match clothing would mean having to go against my natural coloring with the makeup.

I do wear red and sometimes a pop of pink in tops, but my blush is still a peachy pink and I stay with my pinky/nude lip colors or glosses no matter the color of the top.

My sweater colors are chosen because they flatter my complexion, so why would I change makeup colors? I also do makeup first so I don't want to get the makeup on my clothes.

Are you a before getting dressed or after?

Makeup first.

My shades are pretty consistent, as I also use shades that flatter my skin tone.

I will wait until I'm sure about my outfit to select my lipstick though. My lip color starts in a neutral shade. Then I can add a second shade to swing slightly in the roses, reds, or other neutral shades, depending on what I'm wearing.

I am fortunate that I can wear an array of colors. I'll pick out what I'm wearing and choose my blush and eyeshadow accordingly. Makeup gets applied before getting dressed. I'm always leery of doing my makeup with my chosen outfit on, in case I drop a brush or fumble my mascara wand and it hits me. No, I'm not always a klutz, but it has happened before.

Even though I don't wear much make up at all, some days none, I would always put it on last. These days I only use a bit of mascara now and then, so it's easy for me. Having micorblading for my brows was the best thing I've ever done for myself, I don't even have to think about them.

Usually do hair and makeup first, before dressing. I think I started doing makeup before dressing when I was using the Bare Minerals powder foundations. I invariably would get makeup powder on whatever clothes I had on, no matter how careful I thought I was being. So annoying. I don't use BM much anymore, but the routine of doing makeup first stuck.

I'm sure I've done both...but generally, clothes first.

Also, not that this is the reason I do it that way but, you don't risk getting it on pullover tops. Also, though I mostly wear neutral toned blushes, shadows, liners...still...sometimes color of clothing makes me pick whether it's going to be a warm toned blush or cool, same with other makeup...like taupe/brown liner, vs. grey.

I get dressed first, then makeup. If doing hair or makeup first, wouldn't sliding a top or sweater over your head mess it up?

I have never gotten makeup on my clothes, so that's not an issue for me.

I would smear my face and mark up my clothing if my face was done first!!!

Ever see a top on the rack with makeup smears on the collar and other place?? Yuck no way!

Clothes always first so my makeup compliments my choice of colors for the day.

Make-up and hair first, then get dressed. I wear v-neck styles almost exclusively, so putting on my top after hair and make-up is not a problem. On the occasion that I feel the need to protect my clothing, I place an open square, silky scarf on my head to cover my hair and face. Everything glides over with no resistance or mess.

That depends on how much time I have and who gets the bathroom when. We only have one, and that's where the good makeup light is. (When we built this house I had light bars put on the sides of the wide mirror, not on top.) So its a back and forth between the two of us, especially if time is short.

@JeanLouiseFinch That's my main reason for makeup first too. I drop the brush or wand, or get a little powder somewhere. I think I'm always so careful, but then.... Whoomp there it is!

Makeup first always. I don't want to get clothing possibly makeup stained and wrinkled while doing it by touching my clothing. I wear waterproof makeup and only tinted moisturizer that will not rub off even if my face comes in contact with my clothing. and also never wear high necklines except for hooded sweatshirts but no issue with makeup rubbing off. I would think that maybe putting on too thick makeup would cause clothing to be makeup smeared.

I decide what I'm going to wear so I can choose my make-up colors accordingly. I also do my make-up first then get dressed, then do my hair.

@On It, I do the same thing. That was a trick my mom taught me many years ago. I try to do the reverse when I am removing a pull-on top to protect my clothing.
